The full film of Land of Lost Toys is finally out in the world. 🐾 Huge thanks to the @latimes & @latimesstudios for acquiring the film and helping bring this story to a wider audience. This project came from spending time with the people in Detroit who quietly dedicate their lives to rescuing stray dogs. What started as a small idea turned into a film about compassion, responsibility, and the powerful bond between people and animals. Pulled inspiration from RaMell Ross’s use of multimedia montage in Nickel Boys, bending form just enough to stay grounded, but feel fresh. More soon. Two powerful short films are hitting the screen this week at the @farmingtoncivictheater . Screening Daron, Daron Colbert – Directed by @kevinedwardsteen An atmospheric portrait of a young man’s day-to-day life while he aspires to a career in acting. (Images 1–5 from Screening Daron, Daron Colbert) The Sentence of Michael Thompson – Directed by @kylethrash A moving look at Michigan’s longest-serving nonviolent cannabis offender, shining light on injustice and resilience. Through performance and presence, Ipsiety explores themes of identity, vulnerability, and self-discovery. First Golden Hour where the name actually made sense. The light hit just right, so we took it to the roof. No agenda, just good people, cold drinks, and a hell of a sunset to close out May. Might’ve set the bar too high for the next one. @eightfoldcollective Give it a share if you were there.

We wrapped this one a little while back—Aspercreme’s Act Your Age campaign. Four spots in total, shot entirely in Toronto. Two were on location, and the other two were built out on the Breathe.ent stage. The concept called for some very specific characters, and casting ended up being one of the most fun parts of the process. We went with real people who actually live these lifestyles—rock climbers, drummers, motorcyclists. That choice brought a level of authenticity and charm you just can’t fake. Big thanks to the entire crew and creative team who pulled this together—production, camera, casting, agency, all of it. Beyond excited to share our short film “Land of Lost Toys” was accepted into @americanfilminstitute as well as the @austinfilmfest - both Academy Award Qualifying festivals. “In the heart of Detroit, a city with a rich history and a tapestry of diverse communities, “Land of Lost Toys” follows the interconnected lives of its residents, brought together by a shared passion to combat the city’s vast stray dog epidemic. This mosaic of characters carry their own burdens and dreams, navigating the challenges of life in Detroit. With conflicted views on the breeding, spaying and neutering this group of characters discuss the saddening results of disposability culture, lack of municipal support and overall care for “humans’ best friend”. Following our lead character James, we get a unique look into the world of dog fostering and rescuing as he navigates his own internal hardships and the emotional support dogs bring to him.
