We are thrilled to announce that Essye Klempner and Jazmine Catasús at EFA Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop has received a @teigerfoundation grant to support Three Years of Programming.💥💥💥 Over the next three years, RBPMW will foreground its international connections through “Global Impressions,” a programming initiative that builds on Blackburn’s legacy of solidarity with artists from the Global South, showing how print has functioned as both cultural resistance and diasporic exchange. Emerging and established curators and scholars—including Amina Ahmed, Imani Congdon, Shameekia Shantel Johnson, Jenna Hamed, Ethel Renia, Key Jo Lee and Stefanie Jason—will be invited to work with the archive and link it to contemporary print practices. We are among 85 curators and 54 institutions across the US to receive a grant through the Foundation’s Call for Proposals, supporting innovative curatorial projects in contemporary art, from landmark artist surveys and overlooked archives to ecological histories and diasporic networks. The grants fund a full range of curatorial activities, including conducting research, mounting exhibitions, hosting touring shows, and realizing three years of programming. 💥💥💥 Congrats to all of the 2025 #TeigerFoundation grantees!

NEW JUNE COURSE! Over the last four decades, philosopher of science Donna Haraway has revolutionized how scholars understand the relationships between science, technology, and society. While Haraway is most famously associated with cyborg theory, this course will offer students an opportunity to survey the full scope of her work. In addition to deciphering the Cyborg Manifesto, we will read her contributions to feminist epistemology, history of biology, and multispecies ethics, asking: How is the content of scientific knowledge prefigured by the social contexts in which it is produced? How do new arrangements of capital, knowledge, and technology make racial and gender categories both more “natural” and more vulnerable to attack? How is nature put to work for human interests, and whose does this ultimately serve? And do new technologies bring with them the promise of utopia, or new nightmares of capitalist speculation and accelerating exploitation of already vulnerable people and species? “Donna Haraway: Cyborgs, Science, and Gender (In-Person)” with Danya Glabau starts Tuesday, June 2nd at @efa.rbpmw For more information and to enroll, visit the “Current Courses” link in bio 📷: Jean Baptiste Paris - Donna Haraway

The work, emblematic of Arab music’s golden age, will be reinterpreted by Ziadeh and his ensemble. Vocalist Zahra Ali will open the performance with the song, Lughat Al-Zuhoor لغة الزهور. Ink on hands, presses in motion, and prints coming to life. This is a typical Saturday at the country’s oldest community printshop. The Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop (@efa.rbpmw ), a program of the Elizabeth Foundation for the Arts, is a cooperative workspace in New York City offering printmaking facilities, classes, and services to artists of all skill levels. Here, artists explore contemporary and traditional techniques—from screenprinting, a stencil-based process that transfers ink through a mesh screen, to mezzotint, a richly detailed engraving method dating back to the 17th century. Programming furthers Robert Blackburn’s vision of building an international community of printmakers and artists. “Common Ground,” now on exhibit, is a multi-city survey of work by Sudanese artist and master printmaker Mohammed Omer Khalil. For Khalil, the workshop was an artistic home when he arrived in New York in 1967. “Education remains central to the Workshop’s mission,” say Co-Directors Jazmine Catasús, Essye Klempner, and Justin Sanz. Today, there are fellowships for local artists and Legacy Residencies for printmakers who worked with Blackburn. Proceeds from print sales help offset the costs for members, keeping studio access affordable, and ensuring new works are bring created every day. “Printmaking remains a medium grounded in collective practice,” say the Co-Directors. “As Bob [Blackburn] said, ‘studios like ours are designed to share.’” Visit the link in bio to explore upcoming, classes, and events at RBPMW.
