We are proud and excited about the upcoming Earth Partner Exhibition at the Vatican’s Borgo Laudato Si’ (@borgolaudatosi ) September 10th to October 4th! šŸŒŽā   Borgo Laudato Si’ is an innovative space for education in integral ecology and a circular and generative economy. We were delighted to join 2025 Honourable Mentions @dietervlasich and @nimiewil for their photo exhibition and publication launch at @casa___agape in London! šŸ’™ā   šŸ‡²šŸ‡½ Set in YucatĆ”n, their project reflects on the continuity of ecological wisdom. It includes photographs with the community taken by Nimie, and design pieces created by Dieter. "In the ecological crisis, art gives me hope," Dieter shared with us. "It carries the evidence of our humanity, truth, imperfection, and the expressive depth that no machine or system can replicate. I hope we will once again value what is handmade and true, choosing processes and materials that honor both people and the planet, reclaiming our role not as consumers of perfection, but as custodians of life itself." Congratulations, Dieter and Nimie, for this special work! The publication is available at Casa Agape until 12th May. Proud of the Earth Partner community! (... and can't wait to welcome new artists - the next Earth Partner Prize is just around the corner šŸ‘€)

Earth Partner Spotlights winner: @kaila.holland , "Renewsance" for @climatefutures.art šŸ†ā   "My art addresses the issue of fast fashion which leaves tons of textile waste in African landfills. My inspiration comes from the Renaissance movement and the history of Black Portraiture. The Renaissance movement celebrated abundance and wealth, but in modern culture, these values contribute to overconsumption. I critique this emphasis on abundance by creating a Renaissance painting using ā€œtrashā€ to encourage contemplation. The artwork is based on the ā€œBirth of Venusā€ but with an African shoreline setting, symbolizing how Western waste ends up in African landfills. I draw from artists such as Kehinde Wiley and Bisa Butler, who empower Black figures in a style historically reserved for wealthy, white aristocrats during the Renaissance era. Despite being new to working with fabric (I typically use acrylic paint or block printing), I limited myself to using found fabric sourced from thrift stores and family members’ donations. This challenged me to adapt to the different behaviors of various fabrics, such as stretching, fraying, tearing, or not adhering when glued. However, I found that these limitations turned into opportunities, as textured fabric could represent waves and patterns could mimic shades within clouds. Through its materials, renewsance challenges the notion of excess and abundance, while its subject matter centers on Black narratives within environmental justice." -- Thank you to all those who submitted to the Earth Partner Spotlights! We loved seeing your work on Waste. A new Spotlight will be back soon, with a new theme. Follow @earthpartner for more chances to be featured šŸŒšŸ“ø

LIVING ART, 2026 During my time in Nairobi, I began reflecting on what ā€œLiving Artā€ could mean beyond something static. The idea formed gradually through observation and time spent within the city’s post-colonial historic sites. I came to see culture as something alive, carried through people, clothing, and environment. This series is a response to that moment. A reflection on identity as something that continues to evolve, shaped by memory, history, and presence. In collaboration with @wmagchina , @earthpartner , and @artpartner Special thanks to @ronnyonkeo for the support in bringing this together on the ground.
