Bainigí sult as Lá fhéile Padraig!
Me, I will be spending the day doing very little except this 🙃
The Knights of Saint Patrick is a jig played by Donegal master fiddler John Doherty, this version recorded in the early 1980s. It was part of a vast repertoire of music that he and his family preserved over many generations, and we are lucky he recorded some of it for us over numerous decades.
John Simi as he was known around the county.
There has been a lot of great work written and recorded about John and his family, but my favourite is when a neighbour or someone in the locality where I grew up tells me a story of their own of having met him and learned from him.
