JUST ANNOUNCED ✨ Join Derek, Molly, and Marcus for a 60-minute immersive sound experience designed to help you reset for the week ahead.
You’ll be guided through a transformative sound journey featuring a wide range of instruments, including singing bowls, gong, percussion, and voice.
Informed by the facilitators’ backgrounds as professional musicians, the soundscape will extend beyond a traditional sound bath experience to incorporate classical and world music practices.
This is for you if you are:
🌼 Seeking respite from the daily stresses of life
🌼 Interested in experiencing sound and music-making as transformance, rather than performance
🌼 Craving a deeper connection to self within a safe and supportive container
🌼 Needing a spark of joy, creativity, and inspiration
We would be honored to have you. Tickets are available now and are limited in quantity to ensure an intimate setting. 🔗 in bio.
#ThisIsWhy
Whenever the world makes no sense, which is often, art surges forth to help us parse through the madness. @the_why_collective is proud to align itself with centuries of artist resistance movements of the past and present - we share a similar vision:
A kinder, braver world.
We ask for your support this Giving Tuesday.
To help us all make sense of the world.
Join us.
This is Why.

Wondering why our events always begin with a sound bath and meditation? Well, we often explore some pretty deep topics, and want to offer you some preparation and aftercare!
We asked our friends @bloomsoundcollective for their top 3 reasons to try a soundbath, and these were their responses:
💤 The activation of the parasympathetic nervous system helps promote better sleep.
🔊 Sound and Vibration provide something for your mind to focus on allowing easier access to a meditative state.
🔂 Creation of a space filled with intentional listening, both internal and external, fosters more meaningful connection between community members.
BONUS INSIGHT from @kasahealing on the benefits of meditation in general:
✨ Nervous system and emotional regulation
✨ Improved stress management
✨ Increased holistic awareness of one’s own wellness (self-awareness of mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical states)

Sharing an update with you all — we’re getting married!
Given the increasing uncertainty around queer rights in the US, Ruan and I have decided to tie the knot while we still can! It’s been about a month that we’ve been working in earnest on the plans. We’ll be having a very small ceremony for immediate family and close friends at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, as well as a celebratory brunch local friends here in NYC on May 24th. We’ll also be having a reception up at my parents in MA later this summer for extended family and friends back home to be announced!
Engagement photos to come 🌺
