Fight or Quit Classic IV highlight reel. Thank you to @micah_marino for putting on such a ridiculously fun competition weekend! This comp will truly be one I will always remember and the amazing performances of all the lifters was a real highlight to my Vegas vacation.
Huge thanks to @sly.visn for the FANTASTIC work capturing and editing all of the amazing moments of this last weekend. The continued growth of powerlifting over the years has been so incredible to be a part of and now having access to media packages as something we can now have to remember our competitions is something really special.
@jesus.m64 and @creatinecar fatigue maxxxxing on singles week closing out with some tough pulls.
I’m limping into @uspapower Ultra Nationals with this nagging pec strain.
@jesus.m64 with 418 to hit a singles week total of 1069 - way above his previous comp.
@creatinecar with 600 to hit a singles week total of 1508 - right above his comp total.
I did my best to protect my under grip side pec by pulling 661 with straps for a singles week total of 1723. Irritated I’m hurt, but happy I to still be able to compete.
Time for some final training and then we recover and hit the platform. Coached by @shredded_redhead_atops and @drdaveatops .

Squats are done for Olympia Barbell prep.
@jesus.m64 hit 23 lbs over his comp max from 5 weeks ago at 353 nice and smooth.
@creatinecar hit 44 lbs over his comp max from the same meet at 551. Who the hell knows how high this will go?
I hit 705 for a huge lifetime PR. If you told me 8 years ago I’d get under a bar and squat heavy again, I’d tell you you’re out of your mind.
Coached by @shredded_redhead_atops and @drdaveatops out of @opsgym_actual - Bench and Deadlift left to go. @uspapower ultra nationals is going to be crazy.
Spots by @hookgrip_pilot@iavmpt.kg and @manbunalwaysnatty - @iavmpt.kg is the best sleeve puller ever.

Thrashed the hell out of my legs today on the pendulum but back up to 4 plates, worth it! Really happy with how my sumo shape is coming along. I pulled 15+ sets today and I'm enjoying just refining the position. Then got a wild hair up my keister and added bands for my close grip work. Loaded up the triceps really well so I'll keep that in the rotation.

Great singlet Saturday at OPS. Was great having Jeff and Scott in the squat and bench mix today. Lots of hype and I just Road the wave for the day. I'm fucking stoked for everyone's nationals to come.
Working these god awful pendulums back into my sessions again because we do hard things. Riding a great wave of performance from my lifters at comps and body is feeling good. Had the best day with my stiff bar sumo ever which makes me feel amazing about my hip. Then watched @sgtshortstack_em squat over her comp max for a double tonight. That's a great day.

Amy had herself a perfect day.
This prep she was successfully able to combine powerlifting with trail running, managing her recovery between both better than most people manage one. Over prep she was doing for reps what she had previously done for singles at her last competition in June 2025. Her strength has grown significantly and she dropped to the 148lb class for this meet, setting up a serious total and DOTS opportunity.
She blasted through the meet going 9/9. Squats she went 3/3 with a big 286lb third attempt for a 44lb PR. Bench was on fire and went 3/3, each attempt showing strong pauses and powerful leg drive, finishing with 148lbs for a 16lb PR. Deadlift warmups were flying in the back room, and that energy carried straight to the platform. A final 3/3 on attempts with a 314lb third attempt for a 28lb PR.
749lb total. 4th place overall in women's open. 88lb total improvement. 57 point DOTS jump.
What I appreciate about Amy is the way she keeps growing as a lifter and as a person. Her self-confidence has developed right alongside her strength, and watching both improve over the past year has been one of the genuine highlights of my coaching. She never shies away from the work required to be excellent. The platform results speak for themselves.
I am excited about where this trajectory takes her.

This day had some real chaos to it, and Adam handled it the way he handles everything. Calm, cool, and handsome.
Adam has dropped 30lbs of bodyweight through better management of his Type 1 diabetes. His health has been excellent and his training consistency has been outstanding. Five days a week, week after week. We came in with squat rebuilt to 455, bench targeting a 5lb PR, and a 600lb deadlift training PR sitting three weeks out.
And on meet day we had ourselves a MEMORABLE We were sharing a rack with Bryan Gifford, who squatted 915lbs. Between warmups, Adam and I were loading plates and spotting for Bryan. By the time Adam walked out, adrenaline was HIGH. He did well getting his picks out of the combo rack and went 2/3 on squats with a 451lb third turned down for depth. The fatigue and adrenaline carried into bench a lot more than we were expecting. His opener was 281 and very doable on any normal day but some elevated blood sugar levels left us running on empty for a bit. Just hard timing. He made valiant attempts getting further with each one but went 0/3, getting inducted into the real powerlifters club with a bench bomb.
He did not let that define his day.
We regrouped on deadlift, lowered the opener, and he went 3/3 finishing with a clean 562lb pull. Prior to the bomb his squat and deadlift were set to be state records. He will get those next time.
What I appreciate about Adam is the fire and passion competition brings out in him, and how it really brings him out of his shell. He’s an excellent representative of our team and spends time talking to his fellow competitors and helping out through the meet. He is one of the calmest, most composed guys in training and the come meet day he gets to just let the animal out and it’s always my favorite thing to see.
