Awwww yeah! After what seemed like a never ending dry spell the skies finally opened up again, unloading a mountain rejuvenating 16 inches of high-test Teton pow here in the Hole. Uncrowded storm skiing had the ski freaks drooling with delight as their drought-riding memories faded far out of sight. I should know, I was one of them. And all I recall, is a wondrous weightless sensation before a blinding flash of white.

Get stoked and stay pumped, because with a little bit of luck we’ll be seeing many more deep moments as we move into the second half of the 2026 season.

Back around January 10th or so I wrote a little roundup called Trickle to the Rescue, about the start to 2026 here in Jackson Hole. It had been a whirlwind stretch of new terrain offerings, increasing confidence, and deep powder optimism. However, what has followed has been 15+ days of high and dry testing the patience of soft snow aficionados. But this morning dawns with a tiny little touch-up, teasing us with the possibility of extra-floatational temptations.
So, in an effort to reinstate the trickle, reminisce with me on our not too distant past in optimistic anticipation of a snowy future.

Since winter is taking its time showing up here in @jacksonhole let me tickle your powder taste buds with a little bit ‘o acrylic eye candy. This 30”x40” canvas comes straight outta the studio vault & was based on a mid-mega-storm cycle photo shoot with @harroart in 2023. Things change quickly in the mountains and a more promising weather pattern appears to be forming on the distant horizon. With a little luck the entire west will soon be buried by a fresh layer of frozen crystal magic. Stay tuned.
