The day before @thegrandtraverse Logan and I were feeling pretty unenthusiastic about skiing (and running) to Aspen in these conditions. But we saw how hard people were working to keep this magical event alive and have some of the best memories of our lives from this event. So we went for it. Man, it was a blast. The conditions were comically heinous. But we just had the best time laughing away the whole race and celebrating the goodness that this race creates. Seeing all the other racers arrive in Aspen with smiles on their faces was genuinely inspiring. Swapping battle stories with friends afterwards is always my favorite. @cbnordic staff and field teams, you all just pulled off something amazing. Chapeau 🎩 Long live this beautiful race!
I’m supposed to be taking a break. But tonight at midnight I’ll take a break from taking a break and go back to where it all began, @thegrandtraverse 😊 Conditions are a bit heinous but @logangreydanus and I looking forward to whatever this adventure brings.
We were excited to catch up with 2026 Olympian and CBMR athlete Cam Smith on the resort uphill route this morning! Cam finished 4th place in the Milano Cortina ski mountaineering (skimo) mixed relay race alongside his partner Anna Gibson and is nothing short of a local legend in the Crested Butte community. The stoke is real watching him chase his dreams at the highest level!

Just because the Olympics had snow this year or even if we score a powder day here and there, it doesn't do a thing to quell the urgency to act on climate, divest from fossil fuels, and keep the Winter Olympics possible for the future.
