It is with deep sadness to announce the passing of dear Sheila Daniel, my mum and Fearless queen who left us on Monday morning (9th of Feb). She was a truly remarkable woman who led a really interesting life in her 92 years, coming over to the UK from Grenada when she was 19 in 1953. She dedicated 45 years service to the NHS working as a nurse, over 20 of those on the district helping countless people. She was warm hearted, funny and opinionated and had that special magnetism that drew people to her.There’s an African proverb that says when an elder dies a library burns to the ground. I’m so grateful that we have preserved a bit of that library in our film Fearless. The last couple of months have been difficult but I’m so glad that she is finally at peace and pain free. This film is an intimate portrait of Stephen Kapos @stephen_kapos who survived the holocaust as a child as nazis hunted Jewish people in Budapest and Antoine Raffoul @antoineraffoul a Palestinian who survived the Nakba in 1948.
