It’s very hard to put into words the rollercoaster of emotions I’ve felt this weekend.
Saturday was a day that will never leave my memory; to be marching in London with both my parents at the 31st march for Palestine since the g3n0c1de of 2023 began, 22 years after they took me on my first march back in 2003.
I also marched with my solidarity sisters to witness a very special “meeting of Survivors” – the moment my father, the Nakba survivor
@antoineraffoul , and my beautiful friend
@andreakapos ‘s father, the Holocaust survivor Stephen Kapos, met for the first time. It was as if time stood still and there wasn’t a dry eye in the house for those of us who were fortunate to witness it.
I am often asked how this event came about. This beautiful union happened because of a chance comment I posted on
@misanharriman ’s post of his portrait of Stephen earlier this year. I asked him whether he would like to photograph my father. He said he would be “honoured”, and after Misan posted these photos, my wonderful friend
@lisamoorish commented that Andrea should get her dad and my dad together. The rest, they say is history.
But THEIR history will not be forgotten. As long as these two legends exist in the world, their families, myself and Andrea and the amazing film
@think_make_create are creating on this (tbc), plus –crucially – the generations below us who I hope will continue telling their stories of TRUTH, STRENGTH AND HUMANITY.
The P
@le5tinian movement is supported by millions of people in this country and around the world who want freedom and justice for the P
@le5tinians . Suffice to say – we are not going anywhere.
Thank you
@camilla_harriman for capturing this historic moment ❤️ So grateful.
