It’s always nice to be recognized for your work—but when that work involves dragging a camera up a mountain and being eaten alive by leeches, the recognition feels extra sweet… and slightly surreal.
Getting nominated for a Sports Emmy in Outstanding Camera Work – Long Form is an incredible honor, and I’m honestly just grateful we made it up and back home safely.
Huge thanks to the amazing team who made this all possible. Matt Irving, @drewkass@spencercgoodall@newmanfilm@littleburde@obb@lucywalkerfilm , and especially the sherpas, who not only helped carry gear but put their lives at risk to do it. This film would not have been possible or without the help of everyone involved but especially not all the incredible Sherpas from @7summitsclub
Truly a team effort all the way up. 🎥🏔️ #SportsEmmys #SherpasAreTheRealHeroes
Today is Wednesday, a special day. In Sherpa culture, children born on Wednesday are named Lhakpa. Today, I celebrate Lhakpa Sherpa @mountain_queen_10 whose story has inspired many worldwide, @mountainqueenmovie directed by @lucywalkerfilm
I’m honored to have been part of your story the past 5 years. This weekend, at Mountain Film Festival, Mountain Queen won Best Adventure Film. With no empty seats and a standing ovation at every screening, it was truly the acknowledgment she deserves. Lhakpa is starting to get recognition for her incredible achievements as an Alpinist and single mother. However, the outdoor industry has a long way to go in building an equitable future for many athletes and creating more accessible, supportive, diverse, and inclusive spaces.
Remarkably, Lhakpa Sherpa, unsponsored and undeterred, holds the world record for the most summits on Mt. Everest for any woman including K2 in the same season. There’s no sign of her slowing down!
🗓️ Mark your calendars and share with your friends - Mountain Queen on Nextflix, available July 31st.
Give Lhakpa and @mountainqueenmovie a follow! This team passionately elevated Lhakpa’s story so that young girls, women, and POC people can see themselves represented and know that no dream is too big.

Let’s get Lhakpa sponsored and demonstrate to the industry that women like Lhakpa, women of color, and underrepresented outdoor athletes should be valued and supported in long-term, meaningful ways.
Lhakpa, thanks for entrusting me to help capture your story and for opening up and sharing your incredible journey with us.
36 weeks. We’re finally here. These past 8 months haven’t been easy. You think your second pregnancy will be a breeze and then you go in for your first ultrasound and the technician ask you if twins run in your family. They do. Cold sweat breaks out and you and your partner look at each other and you both uncontrollably start making a noise that slightly resembles something between sobbing and laughter. Either way you can confirm there are lots of fluids leaking from your face. This is the point when all bets are off. All the things you thought you knew, you don’t. You buckle up. OB GYN visits every two weeks. Specialists every other and for the next 8 months, you’re not sure why but the doctors continue to remind you how “high risk” this pregnancy is and continue to bring up all the possible complications - Subchorionic hemorrhaging, twin / twin transfusion, selective growth, high morbidity rates. They ask you to pray you get to that next milestone. 24 weeks. 30 weeks. 34 weeks… We’ve held strong. Mainly Jordan. She’s resilient. The strongest person I know. Where she has been able find the mental and physical strength to grow not one but two children (at once) and carry that weight I will never know but I will forever be grateful. Other hand, I was pretty sure I couldn’t bare suffering through another birth after our first. Holding a leg and counting contractions was more than I could handle.
We’ve counted down all the milestones and while it has been incredibly anxiety ridden hearing just how many odds are against you twice a week for the past few months, we have just one more hurdle of this pregnancy left to leap.
7:30am tomorrow we head to the hospital to bring these girls home.
Wish us luck. 🤞
Last day to see Canary in theaters nationwide! Check link in bio to find a screening near you now!
I had the privilege of shooting with one of the most adventurous, humble groundbreaking scientists whose work has steered the course of humanity. This film documents the life and journey of one man who dedicated his life to bringing climate science to the world.
Witness the extraordinary life of Dr. Lonnie Thompson, an explorer who went where no scientist had gone before and transformed our idea of what is possible. Daring to seek Earth’s history contained in glaciers atop the tallest mountains in the world, Lonnie found himself on the frontlines of climate change—his life’s work evolving into a salvage mission to recover these priceless historical records before they disappear forever.

Čhaské is going to be a big brother! Identical twin girls are on their way! 👯♀️ Second trimester, some ease. First trimester was very difficult and scary - more to share later. We are all healthy, nervous, and excited!
We are home in South Dakota visiting with family and for Wačipi (powwow)! We brought Čhaské to Iron Nation where he helped lay flowers on his great grandma Darlene, Carol, Mary and grandpa Wade’s graves. Connection to place, the prairie, the lands, and to a place where I also had my coming of age ceremony. Then, he got to meet his Great Grandma Sharon, had Indian tacos and he got to meet more of his family! He visited with Great Grandpa Nyal in White River too - helped lay flowers on his grave! Sharing this was beautifully special. Even an 🦅 flew over us.
Can’t wait for our girls to share in all of this! Going from 3 to 5…. real quick! We welcome gently used / hand me downs! Any helpful tips and recs from families with twins, are always welcome!
Here we go! ❤️
