bdtbofficial and @deckademics is back for the second annual @chreeceaf Plaza beat battle. August 23rd. Judged and hosted by @newoldheads - presented in part by @statestreetbeats ➡️ bringingdowntheband.com/chreece2025 This year for CHREECE Hip Hop Festival 2025, the Bringing Down The Band / Deckademics stage is putting together the second annual battle in the plaza. Usually we book DJ’s and Producers to perform live throughout the fest. We’re still doing that, but we’re also incorporating a Hip Hop producer showcase/battle in collaboration with State Street Beats. How the showcase/battle will work: we will be selecting 12 producer/beat makers – based upon submissions – to go head to head in three separate groups. Each group will have four producers playing two beats with a particular theme – yet to be determined. The winner of each of these three groups will then go head to head in the final round, where each producer will then play two final beats each. Beat length: 1 minute. Contestants will play their beats from their phones via aux (and we’re going to ask for the beats to be sent in ahead of time incase a contestant has issues the day of). Further details will be shared to all accepted producers at a later date. How the showcase/battle will be judged: the biggest voice in Hip Hop media in Indiana, the New Old Heads Podcast panelists, will be the judges for the battle: Maja 7th, Lonegevity, DJ Jay Diff, and J. Moore (and potentially guest to be announced). The categories that will be judged are tentatively 1) how well the beat fits the theme (will be announced to those that get accepted), 2) how good the sound quality is, 3) how creative/unique the beat is, 4) how much does it slap. Submission Deadline: Monday, 6/30/25 at 11:59PM –  If you are selected as one of the 12 competitors, we will contact you within a few days after the deadline closes with more information. This should go without saying, but please only submit once time. Also, please note that this is a Hip Hop Festival, and we’re looking for producers that specialize in Hip Hop production. Make sure your submission matches that.
