On this day in 1989 I tied with @springsteen for @ascap Songwriter of the Year ! 🎵🎹 Watching this montage and hearing Dick Clark and Casey Kasey sing my praises is still surreal 🥹 “Only in my Dreams” indeed !!! Being a songwriter and bringing my unique musical point of view to all of you comtinues to be been my pride and joy ❤️ There are all kinds of world records I hold l, and it’s a weird time where we as artists shout out those types of fun facts directly to you … rattling off our own resumes. But, let’s just say I belong to some incredibly exclusive clubs as a female writer/producer who started as at super young age, encouraged and supported by my late badass Momager Diane who was one of the OG proponents of “Girl Power”! 🩶 You can look them up 😉 My team is primarily female today with @heathermooreny at the management helm with the likes of my attorney @monika.tashman my distribution partner Missi Callazzo @megaforcerecords , TeamDeb’s @eneffbuzz @jourdynk my book editor @natkid @rebeccashap heading up PR for big projects and on and on …Something about these strong women who had to forge a path in often male dominated lanes. They find us , we find them … and together we continue to evolve and create. I even see my sister Karen in these clips as she was involved on both the label side and publishing at one point or another after interning her way up to an AnR position at major labels ! It was a family affair ! It’s the most amazing life that I still cannot believe I get to live ! Thank you @kthomlv for keeping the spotlight on songwriters here in Las Vegas and including me in the 20th Anniversary of the Composer’s Showcase just this past month. Highlighting original work is essential !!! Thank you Debheads n @diamonddebheads for holding my songs close 😘 I just love that I grew up knowing that my pure vision was valuable and would resonate with music lovers if given the proper exposure. I therefore have always stopped at nothing to see it all the way through. I will continue to build things and to encourage you all to create. My ❤️ is your ❤️🐾 This song came on this morning by @whitneyhouston and it felt like fitting soundtrack to bring the point home that all beings are worthy of all the love and comforts and protection and safety and that strides can be made through love to ensure that we as humans are constantly looking out for our most helpless and voiceless animals who’s lives matter. If we’re not doing that … then what are we doing ?!? So honoured to be a part of bringing attention to matters of animal welfare. It’s a LOT and I have been like a broken record as of late saying that I am someone who is new to this world, but the people who are immersed in rescue and advocating on a daily basis have my utmost gratitude and respect. We were not permitted to film at the facility and, honestly we couldn’t have. It was all about getting the babies into the transport vehicles and onto their next chapter !!! What a wild experience to be the first arms to carry them into the rainy air and watch their various reactions. Lots of adjustments and adventures ahead ! 🐶 Thank you @beaglefreedom for inviting me to be a part of this historical step in the right direction and what a thrill it was to advocate along @geezerbutler such an outspoken compassionate legend who also made me the brilliant cartoon at the end of the carousel !!! I’m not going to do a big thank you list right now. I will tag everyone throughout the day but I wanted to get this up and out to all of you to see the incredible “all hands on deck” vibe of this mission. Thank you @euphorian54 for doing this with me. Day 2 of the Ridglan Release was an incredible success — 150 beagles are now out of the facility and on their way to the loving lives they deserve. ❤️ We’re deeply grateful to popstar, Debbie Gibson and dancer, Eddie Bennett for joining our team inside Ridglan Farms and helping carry dogs out of the facility. Their compassion and hands-on support meant so much. Back at our triage site at Dane County Humane Society, we were honored to be welcomed by Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath, who came out to support our mission. We also held an inspiring press conference featuring several incredible speakers, including our founder and president, Shannon Keith, who spoke about the importance of this operation and the future ahead for these dogs. This rescue effort would not be possible without the dedication of our Wisconsin partners, rescue partners, volunteers, donors, fosters, adopters, veterinarians, transport teams, and every single person stepping up to help these beagles in their fresh start.
