GORGEOUS Blossom is 60 lb 4 y/o staffy mix! She has medium energy - she loves to play fetch and give CUDDLES and hugs first thing in the morning and when you come home.
She’s practicing training on leash walking, knows how to sit, stay, and is house + crate trained. She is a very smart girl. Her favorite toys are tennis balls, squeaky balls, and tug ropes. She is a good eater and her favorite fruit is an apple.
She’s our rescues longest resident, just for being not dog friendly…. Saved from euthanasia due to overcrowding at seacca shelter.
Blossom is such a sweetie. Shes affectionate and loving after a week of warming up. Again, She’s best as the only doggie in the home which is why she’s been look past over and over.
But truthfully her fun self that also can be super relaxed and just enjoy being with you - is perfect.

🩷KIRA : 3 yrs | 40 lbs | pocket pittie. Kira is playful, energetic, and full of joy like a little toddler. She loves zooming around with her toys, splashing in water, and walks or hikes. Shes just as happy to curl up next to you for a nap and soak up human affection. Is dog selective but best to just have her as only pet. She’d be grateful!
💖Tiana: 3 yr | 110 lb | DNA test result has 50/50 down the middle Great Dance + GSD. Really large and FRIENDLY. Great with all people and dogs just needs slow intros as she’s shy.. loves to play fetch! Gentle giant sweetheart.
🩵Care Bear : 12 yr | 44 pounds | staffy mix . Care Bear is playful, sweet, and full of joy. He loves zooming around post bath time. Prefers to be only pet in the home. Bonus points for WFH human as he likes to have people around. Also can just nap with you all day long.
💞GINNY: 3 yr | 65 pounds | boxer mix . Ginny is very mellow, and very relaxed in the house. She prefers to be the only animal in the home and really is low maintenance. If you have a yard, she will sun bathe all day long then lay with you on the couch too. Very sweet. Great with kids.
💗 PRINCESS: 11mo | 65 pounds | pittie . Princess is very happy go lucky puppy, and is goofy and sweet. This is the girl for you if you want a puppy to add to your pack, as she loves other dogs and kids, or if you’re looking for an adventure buddy. She highly enjoys laying on her belly for you and chew toys.

Unwanted in first home when they dumped her in the kill shelter, unwanted in shelter, unwanted now in rescue?! 😖
Zoey is a beautiful 5 year old, 45 pound Lab mix with a huge heart and an even bigger love for her people.
She would thrive as the only pet in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention she deserves. She can also do well with other dogs, 🐕 especially with slower introductions, and tends to be submissive with larger dogs.
Zoey loves kids of all ages 👶 and would be a wonderful family companion. She enjoys having a yard, absolutely loves playing fetch, and is just as happy relaxing at home with her favorite people.
Inside the home, Zoey is truly amazing. She is calm, cuddly, and incredibly affectionate. She bonds deeply with her humans and is happiest curled up next to you after some playtime. A laid back home or a home with a yard would be perfect for her. 🏡

Not ONE?? 😭😭😭
Peony is a 3 year old boxer girl with the best smile and an even sweeter demeanor.
She was found on the
streets eating rocks for food....... but you would never know it by how gentle, LOVING, GOOFY, and RELAXED she is. Peony needs a few minutes to trust you and then she will roll over for belly rubs and show you her teef with a smile! 🤓
She prefers to be the only animal in the home, she cares more about her people though and being around them, she’s an EASY going, happy soul. She does well in an apartment or a home with a yard. She just wants a home.
Peony is already potty trained and crate trained, making her a wonderful addition to a loving home who doesn’t mind her playing with her toys then falling asleep on the couch with you, right on top of you. She wants a family.
She also LOVES HUGS. Very literal hugs. Peony is ready for her forever family and will make someone unbelievably lucky.

💔URGENT: The Truth Behind Closed Doors at DHS Animal Shelter! 💔
We are calling for immediate transparency and upgrades for the animals in our California community. While the Indian office serves as the public face, many animals remain at the Hacienda location away from public view and in significantly harsher conditions.
The Current Reality:
🐕Extreme Heat & No AC: Animals at BOTH facilities are enduring extreme desert temperatures with no climate control. Some spend their days staring at walls.
🐕Industrial Exposure: MANY Dogs are living entirely outdoors, exposed to wind, blowing sand, and industrial debris in 100°+ summer heat.
🐕Severe Risks: The combination of harsh cleaning chemicals and extreme floor heat poses a constant risk of severe burns.
🐕Understaffed & Overwhelmed: At Hacienda, a single attendant is often responsible for the cleaning, feeding, and care of EVERY dog, making regular exercise nearly impossible.
🐕Limited Enrichment: With no safe play yard at the Hacienda location and no “ doggie day out “ programs,many dogs are facing declining health and obesity.
Dedicated volunteers (who are the primary advocates for these animals ) have reported being FIRED for speaking up & We refuse to let these animals suffer in silence.
