Last week, we picked up scared, confused, and anxious beagles from the airport after their long journey to the United States.
With the help of your generous donations—we were able to rescue them from a life of animal testing. 🐶❤️
All these dogs had ever known was pain, fear, and uncertainty. They were crammed into small cages, subjected to painful experimentation, and had never experienced the gentle touch of a loving human.💔
We carefully loaded and unloaded three vans full of beagles to safely bring them to our Los Angeles office, where we released them one by one to take their First Steps of Freedom.✨
It was an emotional, magical day—filled with puppy kisses and wagging tails. 🥹
Thank you so much to everyone who played a part in bringing these beagles HOME. 🐶❤️

It’s been an incredibly emotional week, and none of this would have been possible without our Wisconsin partners, rescue partners, volunteers, BFP staff, and donors who came together to make this happen.
Seeing these sweet pups experience grass beneath their paws, feel fresh air, and slowly begin to come out of their shells has been incredibly moving. They’re now beginning their next chapters with loving families and compassionate rescue partners, where their personalities will continue to blossom with time and patience. ❤️

Day 4 of Ridglan Release — the final day, and the last 100 beagles of the 1,500 who left Ridglan Farms this month. 🐶❤️
Many of the dogs we carried out on Day 4 were senior girls. Their frosted faces tell the story of nearly a decade spent in the breeding facility. Now, they’re beginning a new chapter with loving families who will surround them with patience, comfort, and care throughout their golden years.
With this final group, 500 beagles made their way out this week alone. None of it would have been possible without our Wisconsin partners, rescue partners, volunteers, veterinarians, adopters, fosters, and donors. Thank you for making this incredible effort possible.
Seeing so many compassionate people come together for a mission of this scale has been deeply moving. The impact of this work will be felt for years to come.

This song came on this morning by @whitneyhouston and it felt like fitting soundtrack to bring the point home that all beings are worthy of all the love and comforts and protection and safety and that strides can be made through love to ensure that we as humans are constantly looking out for our most helpless and voiceless animals who’s lives matter. If we’re not doing that … then what are we doing ?!?
So honoured to be a part of bringing attention to matters of animal welfare. It’s a LOT and I have been like a broken record as of late saying that I am someone who is new to this world, but the people who are immersed in rescue and advocating on a daily basis have my utmost gratitude and respect.
We were not permitted to film at the facility and, honestly we couldn’t have. It was all about getting the babies into the transport vehicles and onto their next chapter !!! What a wild experience to be the first arms to carry them into the rainy air and watch their various reactions. Lots of adjustments and adventures ahead ! 🐶
Thank you @beaglefreedom for inviting me to be a part of this historical step in the right direction and what a thrill it was to advocate along @geezerbutler such an outspoken compassionate legend who also made me the brilliant cartoon at the end of the carousel !!!
I’m not going to do a big thank you list right now. Ridglan Release Day 3 Complete 🐶❤️ Today, 100 beagles began the next chapter of their lives.
We are incredibly grateful for the compassionate, talented, and selfless people who have shown up this week to welcome these dogs with so much love and care.
So far, 400 beagles have left Ridglan, and we will get the last 100 tomorrow!

Day 2 of the Ridglan Release was an incredible success — 150 beagles are now out of the facility and on their way to the loving lives they deserve. ❤️
We’re deeply grateful to popstar, Debbie Gibson and dancer, Eddie Bennett for joining our team inside Ridglan Farms and helping carry dogs out of the facility. Their compassion and hands-on support meant so much.
Back at our triage site at Dane County Humane Society, we were honored to be welcomed by Geezer Butler of Black Sabbath, who came out to support our mission.
We also held an inspiring press conference featuring several incredible speakers, including our founder and president, Shannon Keith, who spoke about the importance of this operation and the future ahead for these dogs.
This rescue effort would not be possible without the dedication of our Wisconsin partners, rescue partners, volunteers, donors, fosters, adopters, veterinarians, transport teams, and every single person stepping up to help these beagles in their fresh start.
