I’m premiering a new work with Lucy Raven for Air Aspen July ‘26 @aspenartmuseum | Announcing the participants for AIR 2026: Figures in a Landscape.
Set in motion by Adrián Villar Rojas’s exhibition First Gods, Lost Animals at Aspen Art Museum, AIR 2026 extends from museum to mountaintop, chapel to ranch, and theater to meadow. Figures in a Landscape is inspired by a title that recurs across literature, cinema, music, and painting, reflecting the interdisciplinary spirit of the program while naming an unstable relationship between subject and setting. The program examines the constructs of Aspen’s own landscape, a tapestry of raw wilderness and mediated environments, to question how acts of staging and human intervention shape understandings of place and power.

Experimental drummer, record producer, technologist, and film composer Deantoni Parks is a rhythmic thinker who merges acoustic percussion, electronic triggers, movement, and human-driven sequencing into a single, continuous instrument. His Technoself performances create an immediate, high-voltage musical language built on the philosophy that "bio life forms (Wetware) are the superior technology versus any man-made machines (Hardware)."
He appears at Big Ears as part of a special curation by saxophonist/composer/producer Josh Johnson.

Last year, the storied activist and music production non-profit Red Hot released the acclaimed concept album, TRAИƧA. Today, @andre3000 has shared a music video for his contribution — the 26-minute “Something Is Happening And I May Not Fully Understand But I’m Happy To Stand For The Understanding.”
The video created by @biglillamb weaves a dense tapestry of 2D and 3D landscapes; organic subjects, digitally composed. Drawing inspiration from Édouard Glissant’s ‘Poetic Intention’ and the opaque aesthetics of fifth generation console games, it investigates what it means to “be born into the world...to conceive the world as a relation...as a poetics of alterity.”
This track by André 3000 sits at the helm of TRAИƧA’s “Awakening” chapter, guiding a process of expansion alongside the listener. It marks a new era for the artist of composing without bars.
