When I say “Food is” you say “LIFE”!
The ideas. The food. The people. The JOY! The success of the inaugural Food is Life, Food is Health was beyond our wildest dreams (okay, maybe not our wildest 😉). We set out to “bring chefs and healthcare professionals together to unlock personal and planetary health” and it was clear from the minute we started that the crowd was eager to do just that.
Our theme of collaboration as a catalyst for change echoed throughout the summit. Attendees left not only inspired to take action, but also with nourished appetites (fiber, fermentation, and blue food lovers of the world unite!), joyful hearts, and meaningful new connections. It was an incredible gathering of passionate people united by a shared vision: making healthy, sustainable, and – importantly – delicious food accessible to every community. Selfishly, I also loved that it was a great excuse to reconnect with amazing culinary nutrition baddies, meet new ones, and to help to make several presenters' dreams come true (including my own).

“Adventurous by Nature” 🐒
While speaking to the @danonenorthamerica sales and marketing teams recently, I had the tasty opportunity to sample some of their products — including Oikos, Activia, Silk, International Delight, and of course, Danimals!
That’s me in the photo, double-fisting some Danimals smoothies, sporting a red Danimals bucket hat, and generally having fun with their teams behind me.
What was really cool about this visit, was that some of their food scientists and R&D teams were on hand, so I got to learn firsthand how they are always innovating with less sugar and fewer ingredients.
I applaud Danone’s efforts in this way. Their healthy compass is clearly pointing to their vision of supporting health through food, and they are hard at work bringing that vision to as many people as possible 👏

The food industry spent a decade dismissing meal replacement. Silicon Valley tech bros chugging Soylent became the caricature. Every serious food person rolled their eyes.
Danone just said: worth over a billion dollars.
The dismissal phase is officially over.
Here’s what makes this more than just a deal — it’s a thesis being executed.
Kate Farms in 2025 for medical nutrition. Huel in 2026 for mainstream nutrition. Danone is building the complete nutrition portfolio. Clinical to convenience. They want to own the entire spectrum.
This isn’t a one-off acquisition. This is a strategy.
