My first book “Audio Dynamics: Compression Techniques for Modern Mixing and Mastering” is now available on Amazon!
'Audio Dynamics' is a love letter to recording, the interdimensional space where engineering intersects directly with art. The text culminates many hours spent in the studio, propelled by the musical artist and their song.
Supposedly a book about compression, ‘Audio Dynamics’ is ultimately a book about making records. In addition to compression settings for over 40 different instruments and mix groups, you'll find overviews of advanced compression techniques (serial, parallel, multiband, multibus), illustrated mix templates, recommended compressors, suggested reading, mix references, and more.
Some of you may remember I "announced" this book project long ago (2015). After seven years of writing, re-writing, editing, and re-editing, it's finally here.

In ancient China during the Song Dynasty, scholars would gather in private gardens. They didn’t come for spectacle. They came for refinement. Poets, painters, calligraphers, and musicians would meet under lantern light to test ideas, sharpen skills, and push one other forward.
