September 12, 2013. Jimmy Cliff headlined the Santa Monica Pier for our Twilight Concert Series. Jimmy ended his set as usual by tossing the mic about fifteen - twenty feet in the air. Pretty sure Martin caught it...
We walked offstage with him and he gave me this massive hug, completely soaked, eyes full of tears. I asked why, and he told us this was the largest show he had ever played. We always thought it was somewhere around 12,000+ attending...
An unreal show, an unreal performer at an unreal location. So proud to have been part of the team that put Jimmy Cliff on that stage for the biggest headlining crowd at that time of his career.

We were really lucky to have The New York Dolls perform at Sunset Junction back in 2005. That night back stage scene upstairs at Malo was still crazy times… then onstage rhe band was still raw, fearless, as ever. David Johansen was on fire.
