BULL-5 is like a perfect patchwork family, we are there for each other and complement each other, as different as we may be. We share the same values and stand for a wide range of emotions because we represent open minds and invite you to think in more than just one dimension. 🪴🔀
Who are my parents, where do I come from, and what attracts me? Genetic kinship does not mean sameness. The origin of the BULL-5 font family lies in a one-dimensional, mechanically constructed typewriter font that doesn’t come off as particularly vain. In 2019, the font found a strong partner in the “Typewriter” style, and expanding the family was only a matter of time. In a family, individuals inspire each other, and it is often precisely the counter-movements that are important for the diversity of a growing culture. Type drives culture, and we shape a future from it.
To me, this design feels about right and is very close to the vision I have when drawing fonts. I can’t wait to see applications that now utilize the full potential!

For the complete overhaul of the ImPulsTanz typeface, we teamed up with longtime collaborator and esteemed Vienna-based typographer David Einwaller.
Approaching the project from multiple perspectives, we developed a smart, experimental, fully custom variable font, bespoke JavaScript included.
Elaphus is now available for licensing! 🙇🏻♂️ The design is derived from original drawings of “Experimental 267D” by W. A. Dwiggins — an unfinished typeface he developed for Linotype until 1947. Revisiting these materials, I focused on preserving their warmth and organic tension. The result is a bookish text face with a distinctly human texture — subtle, irregular, and stable even under poor printing conditions or at small sizes.

Seit einem Jahr graben wir in Archiven, literarisch. Schreiben, zeichnen und entwickeln auf Basis des Gefundenen *neue* Schriften. In den Fokus schlichen sich dabei zwei fast vergessene Gestalter*innen: Elfriede Goldschmid und Willi Bahner.
