✨About the Facilitator: Andrea Idrobo is an Ecuadorian-Chilean visual & textile artist based in Toronto. Working across graphic design & textiles, her practice is rooted in hands-on making & community spaces. Exploring Latin American identity, memory, and storytelling, with particular care for the experiences of women and children. With experience in Graphic Design, Interactive Media Design, photography, pattern design, & art direction for film and television, and exhibitions with Sur Gallery, A Space, The Textile Museum of Canada, as well as at local design and cultural markets, including Creato, Wychwood Barns, and Evergreen Brick Works’ Day of the Dead celebration. Alongside her professional practice, Andrea is also a part of the Watermelon Seeds Collective and Tatreez Circle, organizing community textile workshops and working as an art instruction assistant, building community through art learning 🎨
