It’s hard to put words to an animal like Eiger. He was my best friend, my spirit animal, a creature that is hard to explain because I have never met anything like him. As the days add up since his passing, I feel such an emptiness from it, it’s hard to even label what he was to me because he was everything. Ive never loved a creature as much as I loved Eiger and it’s shocking to even think I have to live life without him so suddenly. I’ve had him since my 20s, through the hardest years of my sobriety and I didn’t even realize how much I depended on him until he was gone. I took it for granted that he was always waiting for me after every trip, running to the car as I pulled up every single day . He wasn’t a normal cat, he lived differently. I gave him space to be his own animal and he used up his 9 lives quickly always finding a little trouble but he was the happiest cat I think you could ever hope for and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. Turning dog people into cat people with one single interaction, there never was a time Eiger was anything other than welcoming and often he seemed more dog than cat with the way he carried himself. We had 10 years together and I thought we could have 10 more, he showed no signs of slowing down or even aging . His diagnosis was a shock, a normal day like any other but the quickness in which it took him is completely heartbreaking. We couldn’t have asked for better final days with him and he gave us a show in the yard one last time proving how strong and beautiful he was . Thank you to everyone who has reached out to us directly and has been checking in on us during this process. I’m sorry if I’m slow to respond I just never thought I would need to write this while everything was going so good with him. Eiger forever, we all loved him. I will always love him and look forward to a day I can see him again.

One of my favorite challenges from last year because I promised Bimma I could Ai + VFX an infinite purple stage with fake grass. Between masking Bimma out and matching the velocity of the football felt like it took a decade of problem solving because I also had to add back his shadows over the grass. Not sure if we all believed it was possible in the moment but we trusted in each others roles and we got all the components correct to make it work. I remember opening up the RAW footage before I started editing and said to myself “shit.” Because the image was so far away from where it needed to be but here we are, so thankful for this crew. They really know how to make me look good. Music is where it all started. I can’t forget that. I remember Heff was the first person to ever pay me for a music video. $75 to shoot a video at D-Block skatepark and I was in the middle of transitioning out of college to pursue freelance video. That $75 changed my whole perspective. It’s been the continued support from others and the willingness to believe in a vision (with nearly no budget sometimes or none at all) that has gotten me the rest of the way. Thank you to my friends and all the creatives in the city for sharing your time with me even if it’s for a few frames. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew like this one here.
