On Wednesday, @freeartsnyc pulled a stylish crowd for its 2026 gala, with Artists, collectors and cultural tastemakers gathering to open doors for young artists across the city. Celebrating honorees @jodyquon , @sashaagordon , and @kathebradford , the night also debuted the Sketch Project fundraising auction. The showcase collected new and archival works from 75 of the city’s buzziest names, each tasked with presenting their own vision of New York. From exquisite corpses to live portraits by @adamdressner , we hit the afters and spoke with @whitneymallett and Salome Asega (@computers_puting ) about breaking down art’s barriers and why mentorship matters — here’s what we saw.
