Last Friday we closed out Future Legends, and we are still feeling the energy from the room.
Thank you to all of the artists who shared their work, the performers who filled the space with sound and movement, and everyone who came out to experience the exhibition with us. A special thank you to our panelists for sharing their insights and powerful conversation during the closing.
Moments like these remind us what is possible when creativity, technology, and community come together. We are grateful to everyone who helped make this month so special.

Last Thursday, J.P. Morgan joined us at Future Legends to speak directly with our artists about next steps, career pathways, and navigating the creative industries.
Their team offered thoughtful advice, practical insight, and encouragement that will continue to support our artists beyond the exhibition space. We are forever grateful for the time, intention, and energy they poured into our community.

Last Wednesday, we brought Black Interactive to AECOM for their Black History Month exhibition, and it meant so much to share our work in that space.
Watching our members stand beside their pieces, explain their process, and connect with engineers and architects was powerful. It reminded us that creativity does not live in just one lane. It shows up in science, technology, engineering, art, and math.
Engineers and architects are artists in their own right. They design the world we move through every day, and being able to exchange ideas across disciplines felt special.
Thank you to AECOM for welcoming us and celebrating Black creativity in all its forms.
Art. Technology. Design. Community.

First off… #blackexcellence 🙌🏾Executives from JP Morgan spent time in an intimate setting experiencing the @blackinteractive.nyu Black Futures exhibit in the Clive Davis Gallery. They shared insights into how artists can position and prepare themselves to activate corporate funding for their work. Thanks to the young executive Ms. @itsnandibby for organizing this event as a part of the month long series put together by black creatives at ITP/IMA, IMA LowRes and IDM
Last Friday, Future Legends Remix Week filled the space with movement and community.

About last Friday… we came together around the theme Dream and created a space filled with reflection, creativity, and community. We were honored to host phenomenal guests Dr. Ruha Benjamin, Stephanie Dinkins, and Josie Williams, who shared their journeys, wisdom, and visions for the future with so much honesty and heart, showing us what it truly means to dream forward and build with intention.
Thank you to our incredible moderator Glenn Cantave for guiding such a thoughtful and inspiring conversation. From powerful dialogue to the smooth
Started off with sounds of live saxophone by Kobie Dozier flowing through the gallery , every moment reminded us how important it is to gather, listen, and imagine together.
Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and dreamed with us. Week 2 was one to remember 🤎✨

As we celebrate Presidents’ Day, we’re showing love to our amazing president, Kayley Chery ✨
Kayley leads Black Interactive with so much intention, creativity, and care for community. She’s passionate about advocacy, education, and technology, always using her social and technical skills to help create more equitable and empowering spaces for others.
From supporting young students in coding through Black Girls Code, to helping shape youth entrepreneurship programs, to coordinating events and outreach at NYU, Kayley is always building opportunities for people to learn, connect, and grow. She’s also a creative technologist who brings ideas to life through wiring, coding, and hands-on making, and even created a super cool Batman mask that had us all in awe. And yes, she plays the bass too, bringing rhythm and creativity into everything she touches 🎸
We truly can’t explain how grateful we are to have her. Her vision, talent, and heart continue to shape this community in the best way 🤎 Kayley for President. Our Fearless Leader!
