Never have I ever: coordinated a wedding ceremony in a cemetery. That’s exactly what K&J decided on and it could not have been more iconic. The most beautiful DC Spring weather (those glorious few weeks before humidity wreaks havoc), cherry blossoms that were POPPIN, and a chapel full of their family and friends. Cocktails and a private dinner followed at Maketto on H Street. Chocolate cake, a surprise visit from Chef Erik Bruner-Yang, and a playlist that had everyone vibing all night (including their coordinator, wink wink). It was all about subtle contrast. Low, textured white arrangements layered with smoke glass, petite vases, and candlelight that actually did its job, casting that warm, flattering glow across the room. A few elevated pieces pulled the eye upward, connecting the space without overwhelming it.
