no going back, trans rights are human rights
Last night I dedicated my comic reading at @silversprocket for @ccacomics to the children of Haiti, Congo, Sudan and Palestine…
As I mentioned in an earlier post, it was one of my best, most aligned presentations to date.
And then I was able to make a small donation to @congofriends with money I made from tabling the event…and this new sticker design was born.
Vive le peuple Congolais! (forgive my French)

“I wear a mask because countless studies have detailed the damaging cumulative effects of COVlD (not to mention other airborne illnesses!)”— Behind the KF94 is @Peace.Waters , a victim of violence who has been struggling with Long COVlD (LC) since 2022. Peace is holding “Long COVlD Story Short”, a zine they and their mother Dimitrea @comix.dimitrea created as an autobiographical example of the urgency of care and attention needed for Long Haulers.
“The bone chilling exhaustion, the lack of predictability of what will cause such a severe dip in energy that sometimes I cannot complete tasks that I may have been able to the previous week. The new allergies—not being able to wear clothes or eat foods that are more affordable because they cause an allergic reaction. I also have muscle spasms. My hands shake. I have internal tremors in my face and legs that I did not have before. There are many more symptoms, but the combination of them on top of not being able to afford the rest and care that I know would at least improve my baseline has been really devastating.” Peace shares their experience to support #LongCovidAwareness with #MaskTogetherAmerica.
Peace believes that immunocompromised people, including folks who medically cannot mask, have a right to exist safely in public spaces as safely as possible. Peace said that the Zine is a resource to offer language, research and solidarity to the LC community, especially Black folks.
“It was created with reverence to Black disabled folks through space and time that have and are creating spaces for community healing, and action. Through bite size conversations, big pushes of research, co-dreaming sessions, and asynchronous writing and illustration, we are really honored to have released the first editions of this zine.”
Join us to support this wonderful work through Chuffed for Peace. Honoring #BlackHistoryMonth together.
