📩📩 Have you seen the latest @ckbk newsletter? 🍣🍣 Sushi expert @Nick_Sakagami grew up in Tokyo, then moved to Los Angeles at 21, and is the only person outside of Japan to have earned “Osakana Meister” (fish master). 🍣📚 We are thrilled to have his book Sushi Master: An Expert Guide to Sourcing, Making and Enjoying Sushi at Home, newly added to @ckbk . 🥔🥔 In the UK the advent of Jersey Royal season brings equivalent joy to the arrival of asparagus, or the opening of that first bottle of Beaujolais Nouveau each November. A variety of new potato, the season for these small, waxy, flaky-skinned potatoes, harvested at just 12 to 13 weeks, begins in April and really hits its stride in May and June. 🥔🥔 Like most baby potatoes —do substitute whatever new potatoes you can find into these recipes—they make an excellent addition to salads. 🫶✨️ In part 3 of our 4-part series on Cooking with Kids, @gocharliecart founder @CarolynFederman teaches us why ‘a sauce is worth 1000 recipes’. 🫶🫶 The Charlie Cart Project is a US wide program teaching kids core culinary skills, and helping to imbed in them a real love of cooking. 🥗👪 It gets kids cooking and tasting fresh fruits and vegetables in schools and libraries across the United States. ✨️✨️ In this feature Carolyn shows us, using crowd pleasing recipes from across @ckbk (including @nishakatona @gaylerpaul @coluhenry @anasatassi and more), how the tempting mouthfeel and interactive nature of a sauce, dip, or salsa, are a great way to a young cook’s heart. 🗨“Sunday sauce time” is a great way to spend a dedicated hour or two together, and use up the tail end of vegetables too.
