As part of @latinxcluded residency, in @brxhousetheatre we’re hosting an afternoon reading of Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza by Gloria E. Anzaldúa. A semi-autobiographical work that examines the Chicano and Latino experience through the lens of issues such as identity, migration, and colonialism.
Facilitated by @thebonitachola , we’ll discuss how the text can be examined thought todays, UK landscape, particularly how the rise of LATAM identity here, is in itself a “NEW MESTIZA” siendo NI DE AQUI, NI DE ALLA.

Join us from 12–7pm, on Saturday 18th April, for a FREE community festival filled with culture, creativity, and connection.
Explore our Latinx market, the CHUCHA: “Ni de aquí ni de allá” exhibition, screen printing, trenzitas (hair braiding), film, workshops, and more.
Born from years of community activism by @valentina.mva and LatinXcluded, LatinX Brixton Festival creates a vibrant space where Latin American heritage is celebrated unapologetically.
Inspired by My Uncle Is Not Pablo Escobar, the festival brings together art and activism to uplift community voices, with an even bigger focus this year on dance, movement, and knowledge-sharing.
