Officially announcing the Third annual Avalon Gala!
This tradition started a few winters ago when we were, frankly, cooked. The combination of mounting bills and slow jan/feb business had us at a point where we couldnโt see a way out. So we threw an SOS party - asked some musician and DJ friends to donate their talents for a night, and held a party where we got to keep the door money (and gratefully took donations from well-wishers who couldnโt make it). The night played a big role in digging us out of our financial hole, and doing it once a year at the end of the quiet winter months has become one of our many ways of keeping the doors open in the face of crazy insurance and utility costs, changing customer habits, overzealous staties, and the many other challenges a venue like ours faces.
The year we are thrilled to host a set by the amazing
@cassandrajenkins who I donโt think has ever actually performed on the Avalon stage but played HiLo a couple times in the way back days! Cassandra will be inviting a rotating array of special guests to accompany herโฆ Itโs gonna be a pretty special performance. Opening the night is one of our forever-favorite local bands
