The Maiden 👰♀️

One of Boulders more unique rock features, The Maiden stands tall and proud in the south flatirons. When I first saw a picture of this line setup, I knew I had to add it to the list. Having climbed the rock multiple times, it seemed like a daunting task to also rig a highline off of it, but as with everything in life - a solid crew makes anything possible.

Thanks to @brandonslacks for roping up with me to climb this rock with gear on our backs, we made it up one way or the other. Thanks to @gmeliellis for making an absolutely bomb proof 12-piece trad anchor on the jam crack spire - we could not have done that without you. Water week 2025 part1: Blue Lake

It’s hard to do this place justice through instagram, but what an absolute paradise for the summer slacker! We put up 3 brand new 200m lines over this immaculate and secluded lake. Highlining, dipping in the water, paddle boarding, cliff jumping, water lining… it was pretty much the perfect summer paradise. More video to come soon.

Oh yeah I FINALLY upped my blindfold send PR to 230m! Having not blindfold walked in a year or so, I surprised myself with the clean send. Oh how I love walking on Y2K webbing.

So nice to highline and compete and chill with good people! The Take Flight speed competition was so fun! I went in with no expectations except to have a fun time and that’s what I did! I got to compete alongside some very fast highliners and met so many good people, I miss you all already and can’t wait for the next event like this! Nothing replenishes the soul like a trip like this of highlining and being free.

I haven’t made an instagram post since October, so here’s some recent moments form my camera roll. Life has never been so crazy. Unknowns, highs, lows, moments of strength, moments of weakness. One thing is for sure, I’ve never felt so happy to be alive. I don’t know what the rest of this year has in store for me, or for the world, but I feel good locking in. Locking in on business, locking in on life, locking in on faith, locking in on fitness, and locking in on love. Seems to be the phrase of 2025. We all owe it to ourselves to give everything we have to this life of ours. Live hard. I love you all ❤️
Last week I knocked down a solid Boulder County Buck. This was an amazing hunt, lots of hard work and dedication but I’m so happy it finally paid off. This is not only the biggest buck I have ever shot, it’s the first solo harvest, longest shot I’ve taken (205y), first Colorado animal, first public land animal, and first mule deer on top of that.

This state has so much to offer, and when I moved here 10years ago I had no thought that I would ever hunt deer 20min from my house. I grew up hunting in TN on family property, so this was a completely different experience. I woke up everyday at 4am to get out before work. Basically just strap a rifle to my back and hike up a mountain, hoping to see some antlers.

For the record, this was my 10th Colorado hunting tag, I was beginning to think hunting in this state was impossible, but hard work matched with a blessed opportunity and I finally let a shot off. Thank you God for the opportunity.

I’ve still got some grinding and processing to do, but I’ve got most of this beast in my freezer already and he will feed us throughout the winter. I love providing for my wife and my dogs.

There are no words I could actually say that describe what @moniquecarvalhobeavers means to me! She is my rock, my best friend, my life and business partner, my wife. Happy anniversary! 3years of marriage, 8 years together ❤️❤️
A monumental moment. Anyone who has visited Boulder knows of The Flatirons-the astonishing rocky slabs that rise out of the foothills in town. They are famous for a reason. Unique in color, composition, and shape, these rocks serve as an endless playground to the adventurers of our city. From almost every part of Boulder they are visible, each angle offering a new perspective of their scale and beauty. While there are hundreds of named formations in the flatirons, none are quite as iconic as the 1st and the 3rd flatiron, and they happen to be exactly 340m apart and the summits only a few feet difference in elevation.

It has been dream of every generation of Boulder highliners to walk between these rocks. There have been many highlines rigged in the flatirons, but not this one. Multiple highliners (including myself) have asked for permission to do this line with no success, until @da_logster prepared a wonderful rigging document and finally got OSMP on our side.

The rest is a story that exists along the fondest memories of my life. Starting the hike at 5am with a bunch of friends, running tagline for hours to connect the two rocks, watching the wind thrash our line, scrambling out of my comfort zone, rappelling in the dark, and of course walking this amazing line. What an incredible mission that carries so much weight for me. It’s kind of a full circle moment, and I’m stoked for the new stewardship for access.

We had our first Beginner Slackline class a few weeks ago and it was a major hit! Everyone in attendance was able to take steps by the end of the class, and some of our athletes were even walking across the whole line!
It was so cool to introduce the sport to new people in a perfect environment for learning: @bouldercrossfit
We are going to be hosting the next class on Friday October 18th at 6:30PM, once again at Boulder CrossFit. Free for members, $20 drop-in for anyone else! We would love to see some new slackers, and we would love to see some return students as well. Slacklining builds on itself, so if you were able to walk across the line last time, expect to learn something new!
As a reminder, our head Slackline coach @caleb_highline is available for private Slackline lessons if you really want to take it to the next level! With slacklining the sky is the limit, literally!

Highlining just makes me so…happy. I’ve spent the last 8 years of my life cultivating a skill set that allows me to walk on a 1in wide 760ft long wiggly bridge, with ease before the day even starts. It’s a good feeling and it’s the activity that brings me the most confidence in life. I wish everyone could experience it.
