Cute little part I made for @jaydensimisky aka the Slacksmith. He makes the best knives of any custom blacksmith on the front range - go check out his work! #machining #cnc

When you successfully CNC cut stainless steel with a 1/8” endmill and you don’t break the tool 😮‍💨👌👌 #machine #cnc #machineshop #prototype

Making of a fun one off custom adapter part for a friend. The rotary chuck was perfect to machine both parts of this funky little part without having to re zero anything. Cut one side, rotate 180, cut the other side. • CNC work is so satisfying when you have a finished part. Something about precisely removing material from a AL bar to achieve a completely unique and odd shape is so much fun for me. • #cnc #pcnc440 #tormach #machinist #instamachinist

Cutting long slots for a recent prototype 😮‍💨 this setup worked out perfectly and the customer was happy with the finished result • Unrelated Rant time: if you need a custom part made and expect me to be able to make it for you cheaper than a similar existing product: you will be respectfully ignored. Go buy your own thousand dollar machines, spend many years learning how to set them up and operate them, spend even more years getting proficient at 3D modeling and detailed designing, drafting, and engineering, including an actual BS in Aerospace engineering; then come back and tell me if my price is fair or not. • I’m incredibly grateful for my clients that do respect my skills and prices, you are what makes this business possible! • #machinist #machining

Who needs a plate bender when you have a CNC? But really though, the powers of the CNC are immeasurable in my shop. Being able to create perfectly formed soft jaws to grip my weird parts is a game changer. I still need to dial in the precision on the flip OPs of my parts, but for now I can deal with a .008” difference. I make prototypes not products after all. I’m excited to share more machining and creations this year. • #machinist #cnc #tormach #pcnc440 #homeshop #machineshop

I’ve really been having a great time with my new Tormach CNC mill. Working on a really cool project that I will be able to share eventually, for now here’s a nondescript part from the other day. • #cnc #cncmill #tormach #machinist

Big moves for Boulder Prototype! While I have been neck deep in a home renovation project for the past 3 months, I went ahead and pulled the trigger on getting CNC capabilities in my shop. I got a great deal on basically my dream CNC machine, and oh boy I cannot wait to get this thing spinning. I’m the home stretch of the remodel, bust rest assured once I am done with that I will be back in the shop making some parts! • #machining #machinist #cnc #tormach

Having a lathe is cool because I can make custom screws and fasteners when I need them, like this custom shoulder screw I made the other week. • #lathe #machining #steel #metallathe
