It’s always cool to see how Cadrage is used during pre-production! 🎥🔥 @thetravelcompanionfilm is an independent feature comedy coming to @bamfilmbrooklyn on 4/10 and US-wide on 4/17. Directed by @elshatrab and @decimalplace , the film was a true DIY effort—premiering at Tribeca 2025 and later acquired by Oscilloscope Laboratories. Stunning work by @andre_schaapen , thank you for sharing this with us! „Cadrage played a key role in our workflow. It helped us find our frames on location and clearly communicate the visual approach to both the client and our small crew. Because we were shooting with football players rather than trained actors — and their time on set was very limited — preparation was essential. On an additional recce day, we used Cadrage’s video feature to pre-shoot the entire spot inside the art museum. This allowed us to test blocking, framing, and timing in advance and make sure the scenes would work as intended before the actual shoot. Having that visual reference beforehand helped us brief the players efficiently and keep the shoot as time-efficient as possible. The spot was shot on 16mm Kodak Vision3 500T film. Always great to see how Cadrage is used during prep 🎥🔥 "This film started as a story about connecting sport and natural winemaking through a unified message, but it gradually shifted to a story about pace, the pace we force on ourselves, and the one our bodies keep telling us to return to. My DP, Alex Arteaga, and I made several trips to the valley where the vineyard is located, searching for a visual story within a landscape that had no clear order. We allowed ourselves to wander, trying different angles and intuitively happening upon moments and places that, in hindsight, came together naturally in the final film. As it was my first time shooting on 16mm, and with limited time under the winter sun, I wanted to arrive on set with a clear intention so we could move fluidly through the day and even have time to speculate in the moment if we thought there was a better way to do something. I couldn’t have asked for a better crew or a better way to spend a Sunday in the Spanish countryside."
