RESIDENCY OPEN CALL: Fall 2026 - Winter 2027! 💫 It’s open call time, folks! We can’t wait to see what’s out there this year ✨ Local and visiting artists are encouraged to apply for Bunker’s Residency Program, aimed at fostering artistic growth and community connections. Our program features studio spaces for Pittsburgh-based artists and live/work accommodations for visiting artists. With two studios, two bedrooms, and a gallery space, we provide a supportive environment for creating new work and building community. Ideal candidates are dedicated, self-motivated visual or multidisciplinary artists eager to make new work and connect with the creative community in Pittsburgh over a 4-6 week residency. Join us in our upcoming residency cycle starting in October 2026 through December 2027. Come see Wish during our open gallery hours: Sundays 12-2 and Thursdays 5-7pm now through May 24 💫 We will also be open for May First Friday this week from 6-9pm on Friday, May 1st 🪄 Wish exhibition statement: I made all of these wands because I wanted to play with you. Before art, sex, war, and work, we would play in the woods after school or in the backyard lit by fireflies at dusk. Most of the handles I found; but some were gifted to me too. I screwed eyehooks into driftwood battered by the sea. Rolling pins for sugar cookies and pizza night. A secondhand shoehorn. A gavel. I had to make the ribbons. Some are dyed or scribbled on with marker, and a few are even marbled. Colors and patterns to swirl in the air, unfurling around us. Pick one up and see how you feel after a song or two. There doesn’t have to be a winner or a loser. A wrong or right. An audience or a stage. They’re not weapons. Are they tools? Toys sound too childish. Props are for performers. We’re just playing now. It feels good. Try it! You know what to do. Your body knows—it’s an ancient feeling. 📸: @lindsaycdill

👾 New Bunker Questionnaire: Ajunie Virk 👾 Ajunie Virk @ajunie.b.jones is a writer-director and animator from Illinois whose work investigates the relationship between surveillance, identity and paranoia in a diasporic middle-America, conjuring up narratives that force viewers to face uncomfortable truths only apparent after objects of nostalgia are stripped of their familiar contexts. Time to enter your memory palace... Prompt 4 for I LOVE FURRY at @bunkerprojects gathers recollections of folks earliest memories of encountering “Furry” art. Participants can submit writing or drawing or both. Inspired by similar conversations I’ve had with many friends over the years, trying to remember what the first furry art we saw was. ☀️New Bunker Questionnaire: Txai Sibley☀️ Spring 2026 resident Txai Sibley @digi_fren (they/she) is a self-taught, mixed-media artist born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. In 2025, they graduated from University of Michigan with a Ph.D. in Materials Science Engineering while also maintaining a reflective artistic practice throughout their doctoral work. Sibley’s art is rooted in playful introspection and serendipity, serving as an expansive diary and spiritual tool. NEW SHOW INCOMING!!! And I need YOUR help! Submissions are OPEN! I Love Furry is a brand new project set to debut at @bunkerprojects this summer. The exhibition will collect images, texts, and videos gathered from the furry community via submission to prompts exploring different aspects of furry experience. One year after the landmark furry group show, Room Party, I am delighted to work with Bunker Projects and the furry community on this new project. Modeled after projects like "Learning to Love You More", I Love Furry will fill the gallery with responses gathered from across the furry community.
