Can you make us a little garden gnome having a Jacuzzi in a plant pot powered by flatulence? Say gnome more... @poundland asked us to make a cheeky little gnome chap for their gardening print and digital posters, based on an existing ornament they sell. Gnome messing about, we doodled him up, modelled him in 3D with suitably pointy gnome hat and ears, added some worn painted stone textures, gave him a skeleton and animated him doing various gnomey things such as digging and wetting his plants. Modelled & animated in Cinema 4D, textured and rendered with Redshift. @maxonvfx @maxonredgiant @maxonredshift That's it, gnome more. #gnome #gnome #gnome

Robin Hood, The Terminator, Sarah Connor, T-1000 and a singalong with Cher... we travelled through time and encountered them all at Animorsels Time Warp, here's a little video of the lunacy. Big thanks to everyone who came to Animorsels Time Warp! Using a time machine built by Cher, we shot back to 1230 picking up Robin Hood, accidentally changing history, resulting in killer robots taking over the world. Luckily the Terminator & Sarah Connor appeared to defeat a dastardly liquid metal T-1000, who demonstrated its ability to shapeshift into a chair, fork and rainbow. Lots of short animations followed, taking us back to the first ever animation from 1908! Then our Quick Quiz and screening of all the "Time Travel" microMorsels animation challenge entries. @steffleeartist took us through the production of her award winning short film "Of All the Things" before @sojoanimation showed how she brings children's drawings to life. With our fuel depleted, Cher arrived from 1989 just in time to recharge us with a power ballad, a soaring rendition of "If I Could Turn Back Time", getting us back to 2026 just in time for... ...a great talk from @jennnzheng about her work as a creative director at @buck_design , we even got a bit of bonus stand-up from Jen whilst we were getting her laptop connected! 97 stencils, 12 cans of snow spray, 3 animators & one loooong evening. We made this back in 2021 and still have nightmares about it. Characters put together in Illustrator, animated in After Effects, each frame exported and cut from card or acetate on our @silhouette.inc cutting machine. Then a long evening of spraying, wiping & scraping. We used @dragonframe.software to capture each frame & check it as we went. Merry Christmas! #snowspray #snowgraffiti #sprayart

Big thanks to everyone who came to Animorsels Re-Animated. It was rather spooky and more bonkers than usual. Following Count Roy Palmer's Theremin performance, we kicked off with a séance, unfortunately someone became possessed by the Devil and we had to call a priest for an exorcism, Tubular Bells and all. Lots of funny and unsettling animated shorts followed, along with our Quick Quiz and the microMorsels animation challenge entries! We demonstrated our Re-Animation machine, sending Max into the dungeons to collect body parts, wearing the Helmet of Justice we borrowed from our pal Treguard. We overcame naked trolls, spiders & giant axes, plus a dragon who escaped the dungeon. The machine worked a treat, although the creature did escape into the night, oops. Sam Pillar @sampillar took us through how he uses Moho in his work before Teagan Ball took us to another dimension to explain how she animates in virtual reality!​ Matt Partridge @mattsatonthecat then gave a great talk about his inspirations, fun characters, personal projects, directing animation and his thoughts on AI! At the end of the evening DJ Brain Cheese emerged from the dungeons to conduct our afterparty with his spooky tunes. Congrats to the @altontowers team, winning Best Marketing Campaign for 🧪𝗧𝗢𝗫𝗜𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗥🧪 at last week's @ukthemeparkawards We had great fun earlier this year making the teaser and name reveal animations for the launch of Toxicator. Here's a little making of the reveal animation, showing the rough timing animatic alongside the 3D build of the scenes and the final animation. Starting with a really rough animatic just using images and shape layers in After Effects so we could get an idea of timing to the music and exactly how many frames each cut would be. As usual, all modelled and animated in Cinema 4D (I think the only thing we didn't model was that chair at the beginning and the Toxicator logo which was supplied to us) then rendered with Redshift. We exported the camera from Cinema 4D into After Effects so we could drop 2D elements into the same 3D space, such as green mist, fog, smoke, liquid splashes and goop. A final smattering of Deep Glow made all the acid look even more deadly. #behindthescenes #bts #makingof

We recently delivered the logo, animated title card and programme graphics for "Tommy: The Good. The Bad. The Fury" available to watch now on @bbcthree and @bbciplayer Referencing boxing posters, we went through many different designs, colours and typefaces as we developed the logo and title card, some featuring Tommy with others just text and stars.
