To match this week's @nottinghamcamra Mild May pub trail. We have @shipstonesbeer wonderful smooth, silky traditional mild ale. Dark in colour and full of sweet malty flavours.

THE PUB IN HISTORY
These details you see in the pub are most likely added to the pub at the same time during the 37-8 refit. The terrazzo (the specked stone) on the floor and zigzags seem to match indicating they were done at the same time, although there are no photos or newspaper descriptions to match. There is no evidence of a major refit to the floors and wall tiling only superficial work.

THE PUB IN HISTORY
These pictures are from a visit the Lord Mayor took to the pub in 1992. Selling Hoskins Bitter at 99p which they claimed made them the cheapest regularly-price pub pint in town. Sunday night was 'Guest Beer Night' allowing punters to try their knowledge of beers to earn themselves a free beer (we suspect mostly going to regulars).
Thursday nights were their 'Alternative Nights' with hot curries, T-Shirts on offer and their T.H.I.R.S.T. challenge of which there is no information on. Just the day after on Fridays they were open all day with Sports TV playing in the corner of the bar.
With wholesome snacks with a vegetarian bias and regularly stocking Hoskins' Beaumanor Bitter, Penn's Ale and premium alongside guest beers like we still have today.

THE PUB IN HISTORY
In a more recent note Tom Hoskins was opened and then run by the Leicester Brewery Hoskins & Oldfield 1992-97. During the refit of the pub the linoleum flooring was ripped up to reveal the 30s tiling you can see today. In the pictures you can see a dart board which was noticeably missing in the pub until a few months ago when we installed a new one.
