The Warpmode activation is presented as part of Group Hug, an exhibition of large-scale, site-specific video game installations. Group Hug is presented by (@onassis.onx ) with Water Street Projects (@waterstreetprojectsnyc ) and curated in collaboration with Julia Kaganskiy (@juliaxgulia ), Serpentine Arts Technologies (@serpentineuk ), and Rhizome (@rhizomedotorg ).

🫂 Is it the end of the world, or the end of a world? Define the difference. Tamar Clarke-Brown, Salome Asega, and I respond to this question, pulled from the Warpmode deck of cards. Calling us to reflect on resilience, despite cycles of apocalypse, we lay our emotions and cards on the table. Afropocalypse is a new term I’ve created to reframe and grasp a better understanding of Afropessimism through the context of apocalypse. What does it mean to be indigenous and to relive the apocalypse over and over again? Above are excerpts from last week’s @BlackBeyond_ Game Night at @CreativeTime HQ where black artists gathered to work through a series of prompts I designed to breakdown and unpack black theoretical frameworks through collective conversation. *This experiment is an ongoing work in progress.
