I was arrested on Monday alongside nearly 100 New Yorkers outside of
@senschumer and
@senkirstengillibrand offices, demanding that they vote to block $446.8m in bombs and bulldozers to Israel. That vote happens in two hours. Take a few minutes to urge your senators to vote yes (use the
@jvpny call tool at /senatevote — they have a script, super easy).
I feel more heartbroken & livid by the year as our government chooses to fund war instead of healthcare, housing, education, food security, desperately needed resources that we are wealthy enough to afford. But it was an honor to feel heartbroken & livid in company—and in action—on Monday, and to remember that WE CAN BUILD A MASS MOVEMENT AGAINST OUTSIZED MILITARY SPENDING.
@harshbabe.nyc wrote yesterday that “trans and queer people are always at the frontlines because we recognize that as our rights and care are being stripped, our money is being sent to Israel, war and deportations.” In the midst of a cold front, there’s warmth in solidarity. We stand with the people of Iran, Lebanon, Palestine, and all people in the crosshairs of the U.S. war machine.
@jvpny @harshbabe.nyc @xychelsea87 @harinef @caitcamelia @lsarsour @darializaforny , I appreciate you all so much.
BLOCK THE BOMBS, END THE KILLINGS, FIGHT LIKE HELL FOR THE LIVING ❤️🔥
