Don’t mistake my tiny intervals of silence for abandonment. I am here. I am working. Thinking. Reflecting. Listening. Strategizing. Pivoting.
We got this folks. I promise.
For decades the State of Israel murdered Palestinian men, women and children. Imprisoned our uncles and fathers with no charges or trials. Stole our land. Uprooted our olive trees. Humiliated our women. Desecrated our holy sites. Bombed entire residential buildings. Israeli settlers burned homes and killed innocent civilians and NEVER ONCE did I feel the urge for collective punishment for an entire people because of the actions of some. I was outraged. And through my rage I demanded JUSTICE, ACCOUNTABILITY and FREEDOM for my people.
Gaza is now without electricity, fuel, water or food at the orders of the Israeli Minister of Defense. 2.2 million people - half of whom are under the age of 18 - in the dark waiting for their death and destruction. And now there are folks who want you to once again believe that Gaza = Hamas and that every civilian is a target and/or collateral damage. They want you to believe that somehow carpet bombing a people under siege with no way out will somehow resurrect the innocent or end this horrific violence.
So Palestinians watch our timelines and see the support for Israel, the call for vengeance and revenge even if it means killing thousands of Palestinians. People suddenly have their hopes in a fascist Israeli leadership literally calling for the annihilation of Palestinians in Gaza. The moral inconsistency is sickening.
Palestinians are a people with universal aspirations for freedom, liberation and self determination but you choose not to hear us because you have deemed us unworthy based on the dominant narrative. How can we break through decades of the vilification, criminalization of my people? It seems nothing we say or experience will ever suffice.
To my Palestinian family, i know this is hard. I know we are mourning. But we will resist the urge to take on the characteristics of our occupiers. I love you, I pray for you and remember that if we do not find justice on this earth it will be guaranteed to us in the hereafter.
p.s. if you think making an open air prison in to a cemetery is the solution to this horror - please do me a favor and block me now.
Happy Birthday to our brother, the incomparable @mysonnenygeneral .
A brilliant artist. A fearless truth teller. A leader whose voice has become one of the most powerful and necessary of our generation.
Despite the weight of systemic racism, criminalization, and every obstacle designed to break Black men in this country, Mysonne transformed pain into purpose and purpose into power. He has never stopped fighting for our people, speaking truth with courage, and showing up for communities too often abandoned and unheard.
Your leadership, talent, heart, and authenticity inspire so many of us every single day. You are deeply loved, widely respected, and truly celebrated by people across movements, communities, and generations.
May this next chapter bring you peace, protection, abundance, joy, and continued elevation. The culture, the movement, and the people are better because you are here.
Happy Birthday King. We celebrate you today and always.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib re-introduced the resolution “Recognizing the Ongoing Nakba and Palestinian Refugees’ Rights” with a record 12 original co-sponsors.
The Nakba did not end in 1948. Palestinians continue to face forced displacement, land theft, siege, and genocide today.
ACT NOW at mpoweraction.org/nakba. Tell Congress to support this historic resolution and end U.S. complicity in Israel’s violence against Palestinians. Link in bio.

A message from Linda Sarsour:
As we enter the ten days of Dhul Hijjah, the most sacred days of the year, I am still reflecting on my humanitarian mission with Baitulmaal to Wajir County in Kenya. I am reminded of the immense suffering, extreme poverty and daily struggles our fellow Muslims experience around the world.
And as a Palestinian American, my heart remains with my beloved people. It has been 78 long, brutal years of displacement and suffering since the Nakba. The Palestinians need us now more than ever. They continue to be under threat of bombardment. Periods of ceasefire have repeatedly broken down in Gaza, and we continue to see some of the same painful images of mothers mourning their children, wives mourning their husbands, and more. We cannot forget the people of Gaza. They have endured too much suffering for us to look away from their trauma and pain.
These are days when every good deed is multiplied. Days where giving is not just charity, but an act of faith, solidarity, and love for humanity.
Join me and share your blessings with Palestinian families and those in need across the world through the incredible humanitarian work of Baitulmaal. I witnessed it firsthand - for the Turkish and Syrian people in the aftermath of an earthquake, in Gaza during the height of a genocide, and in Kenya, where many suffer in silence.
With your generosity, Baitulmaal will provide adahi, food packages, and essential items to thousands of families in dozens of countries, including in Gaza and the West Bank. In a world that often teaches individualism, Dhul Hijjah reminds us that we belong to one another.
The people of Palestine count on Allah and count on YOU. Let us be worthy of their duas.
Please give generously during these sacred days. Give with intention. Give with compassion. Give believing that even the smallest act can transform someone’s life.
May your giving be accepted, your prayers and duas answered, and your good deeds multiplied abundantly. Inshallah, one day we will celebrate peace, dignity, safety, justice, and freedom for the Palestinian people together.

@elijahedixon , I want you to know you are everything we need in politics. You put the people before yourself. You recognized this particular race may be an uphill battle and you saw that @hamawyfornj had some momentum and resources and shared your commitment and values. I want you to know how grateful we are to you and I want you to know that in the future you can count on us to be there for you.
We deserve a leader like Dr. Hamawy in Congress who saw genocide up close and was willing to risk his life to save others. We need a doctor who sees firsthand the shortcomings of a broken healthcare system. We know Dr Hamawy is never going to waver and when he wins on June 2nd, it’ll also be because you demonstrated a solidarity politics we so desperately need.
Thank you Elijah! Let’s vote Dr. Hamawy in NJ-12 on June 2nd!
Salah Sarsour, a Palestinian American community leader, husband, father, and president of the Islamic Society of Milwaukee, was taken by ICE after 12 federal vehicles surrounded his neighborhood and arrested him in front of his community. He has now been held in ICE detention in Indiana since March 30th.
Salah has been a lawful permanent resident in the U.S. for over 30 years. His detention is part of a growing pattern of targeting Palestinians, Muslims, and advocates speaking out for justice in Palestine.
From Mahmoud Khalil to Rümeysa Öztürk, we are witnessing the criminalization of Palestinian advocacy and the abuse of federal power to silence dissent.
Milwaukee leaders, community members, and Members of Congress have already spoken out. Now we need more voices demanding justice.
Tell Congress at mpoweraction.org/freesalah.
Free Salah Sarsour now.
End the persecution of Palestinians speaking out for peace and justice.
Save the date. June 27th.
More info to come. Follow @next250us & @getfree_mvmt to stay informed.
It’ll be historic. Guaranteed. Time to remind this country what we stand for and what we are willing to fight for as we embark on the #Next250 for #AllOfUS.
