🎨 CALLING ALL YOUNG ARTISTS 🎶 The Third Annual Philly Youth Music Fest is coming to Spruce Street Harbor Park on July 19th from 2PM–8PM — and we’re looking for THIS YEAR’S OFFICIAL FEST LOGO 👀🔥 Hosted in partnership with the City of Philadelphia Department of Commerce and over 30 community-based and music organizations across the city, Philly Youth Music Fest is a yearly celebration of the incredible talent, creativity, and leadership of young people throughout Philadelphia. @phlcommerce We want YOU to create a logo that represents what Philly Youth Music Fest means to you. Major shoutout to all of the talented students who performed today at our Live! At the Library with our amazing partners the @freelibrary ! Everyone did an incredible job and we had a blast seeing their talent and have a pizza party after! To every family who came out and supported yall are incredible and we can’t wait to see you at the next show!

The 3rd Annual Philly Youth Music Fest is officially happening on July 19th from 2PM–8PM at Spruce Street Harbor Park! @sprucestreetharborpark We could not be more grateful for every venue, partner, family and amazing young artist and leader who has helped build this to be a city wide celebration that our youth deserve! Our city is full of such incredible young people and we are grateful that on July 19th our whole community can come together to celebrate not just their artistry but their leadership and what they mean in our city! This year, over 30 community-based organizations and youth music organizations from across Philadelphia will come together for a full day of performances, workshops, art, community resources, and celebration. Philadelphia has some of the most talented, creative, strong and inspiring young people anywhere in the world — and this day we get to celebrate them. Free and open to the public. Oh don’t mind us we’re just in awe of one of former students now teachers Destiny Harris for what she just did today! For her high school senior capstone she started her own music program at her school, taught over a dozen students of her own organized an hour and half show for the whole school that showcased over 20 young people performing for the first time and absolutely brought the house down (the show even had an intermission and food)! Destiny bounced from running the show and bands to backing up artists on literally every instrument and singing backing harmonies for anyone nervous. Every young person that performed today was given ovations and you saw them realize their talent and felt proud of themselves! None of that happens without Destiny and we could not be more in awe of her leadership! The next generation is in the best hands and we couldn’t be more grateful!

Had an amazing time making music with @turningpoints4children at an incredible event in our community! The whole Turning Points team are awesome and we are so grateful for the supports they provide our young people!!

Had an amazing last day with @cristoreyphiladelphia ! Everyone absolutely crushed it and we couldn’t be more grateful for all that Cristo Rey does in our community!!

@sheed_wittheshotz is one of the most game changing leaders in our community full stop! If you know Sheed she is always running from one space to another to another while being one of the most present, thoughtful, compassionate and brilliant mentors of young people you will ever see. Sheed’s impact in our city is far beyond just btb and there are countless young people that feel cared for, supported and are leaders in our community because of her. Sheed will come to teach at BTB after a whole day of supporting youth elsewhere and will leave our program at night to go support even more young people elsewhere. You are such an incredible force for good in our community and we could not be more grateful for the person and the leader that you are! Sheed also runs an experience for young people in Philadelphia to get to go on a trip to Florida for a leadership conference that has helped so many young people see other parts of our country and realize the leaders they are in our community! There is currently a fundraiser to support more students going and we would love if you could donate by going to her page and donating on the gofundme! You are the bomb Sheed and this city is so much better because of you!
