The City of Philadelphia was declared The Original Music City on May 29th, 2025. The declaration was introduced by Councilman Isaiah Thomas

The Original Music City Task Force exists to strengthen, promote, and protect Philadelphia’s diverse music ecosystem consisting of artists, musicians, radio, creatives, promoters, venues, educators, organizations, and businesses. We work to influence legislation, budget priorities, and infrastructure to ensure that music remains a central part of Philadelphia’s culture, identity, and future.

The Philadelphia Airport will be highlighting Live Music May 14th, May 21st, May 28th and June 16th on the Terminal B&C Food Court Stage.
The Department of Commerce Night Time Economy is host live music on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays every week from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
