It’s no secret that everyone is struggling with the rising cost of energy bills. This week we held a very important hearing addressing these rising cost and what we can do help our constituents. Along with other officials such as @mayorcarstarphen , @rep_fiedler and my colleagues we sat down for this important discussion. I want to thank everyone for joining me and partnering with me to tackle this issue.
The Streets are coming. 💪🏾🔥
With Election Day on May 19th just days away, we’re building momentum across Philadelphia with leaders who know what it means to deliver real results for our communities.
Grateful to have the support of Councilmember Isaiah Thomas and Rep. Andre D. Carroll, two leaders who continue to fight for Uptown, Germantown, and neighborhoods across our city.
This campaign has always been about more than slogans. It’s about showing up, doing the work, and delivering for working people, families, young people, and communities that deserve to be heard.
Now we finish strong. 🗳️ Push #4!

I’ve always believed that the strongest partnerships are built through service to others.
My brother @isaiahthomas4philly and I have worked together with one common goal: creating opportunities and delivering results for the communities we love. Whether it’s supporting youth, advocating for community oversight, or uplifting working families, our mission has always been centered on people first. I’m honored to have his endorsement as I run for re-election, and I look forward to continuing this work together.
Election Day is Tuesday May 19th.
At today’s hearing, we’re asking the question everyone has been thinking: why have energy bills gone up so much?
With recent spikes hitting households across our city, we need real answers first clarity, then action. When families haven’t made major lifestyle changes, it’s not acceptable to see bills rise to unreasonable levels.
My focus today and moving forward is to ask the tough questions, get transparency, and push for real solutions that bring relief to our communities.
ALL Young People, Adults, Parents, Educators, and City Leaders—BIG ANNOUNCEMENT (and plz read and scroll this post all the way through ❤️🙏🏽)! Level Up’s 15 year old Ian from West Philly has completed his board game FEED THE WORLD—a 2-6 players cooperative board game where you travel the world to solve world hunger, using food, tech, and currency. Ian was inspired by how Level Up cooks and serves some 600-800 meals daily to battle food insecurity among Philly youth, so he designed the game (working so hard daily over one year) in our Level Up STEM lab with our Level Up Independent Research Program for all kids who express interest (more big announcements coming of what Level Up youth are creating/inventing!) We presented the first printed copy to our Mayor @phillymayor and this weekend, we took the game to the Philly suburbs to the renowned gaming boutique 7th Dimension, where elite board gamers played the game and then filled out surveys afterwards to give us final feedback before mass production (and they truly enjoyed it!!)THIS GAME IS EPIC, and [solely] created by Level Up’s genius 15 year old from the hood of West Philly??!! This is a major “WIN” for all Philly youth and American urban youth! #ChangingTheNarrative And just how many “official” board games are there, where Black and Brown children can use characters in the game who actually look like them, as well as everyone else in the world as well?) We will be presenting this educational game to @philly_schools local colleges and more! Everyone will want this artistic educational highly-conversational board game in their home— you can play it; or just leave it set up and read it— and learn more about global food insecurity and the power of collaboration (which happens to be the heart and soul of Level Up!) Any questions about the game? plz email LevelUpPhilly.org AND visit FeedTheWorldGame.com #LevelUpPhilly #HarvestDiamonds #LevelUpWorkforceDevelopment #SaveOurYouth AND ALL PROCEEDS FROM GAME SALES GOES 100% TO IAN!!
HAVE YOUR ENERGY BILLS GONE UP?
Energy costs have steadily risen over the years, and Philadelphians feel it every month in their bills.
At tomorrow’s hearing, I’ll take a closer look at what’s driving these increases, why they continue to climb, and what steps we can take to bring real relief to residents.
We need transparency, accountability, and solutions that actually lower costs. Energy affordability is a core part of the overall cost of living in our city.
Thank you to @rep_fiedler , @councilmembermikedriscoll , and @mayorcarstarphen for caring about this issue and joining me in the effort to bring clarity and tackle it head-on.
