It’s getting harder and harder to use the internet right now. But online ads aren't just annoying - they're a multibillion dollar industry.
Meta made $196 billion last year JUST from advertising...for perspective, our entire PA state budget was around $50 billion. Worst of all, because of our outdated laws in Pennsylvania, Meta paid exactly $0.00 in taxes, while making billions off our backs and selling our private data.
My Digital Ads Tax bill would correct this loophole and could bring in almost $500 million in yearly revenue to fund our schools, roads, public transit, parks, and libraries. It's time for Big Tech to pay their fair share so that working families can catch a break!

During yesterday’s hearing, @rep_fiedler highlighted several bills already in place that directly address the surge in energy prices. I encourage everyone to take a moment to learn about these efforts and support the legislation aimed at bringing real relief to our communities.

This week, we welcomed superintenents and school leaders to the Capitol to spread the word about Solar for Schools - the grant program that helps Pa. schools install and own their own solar panels! Check out coverage of this event from ABC27!
When schools invest in solar, they save money, produce their own energy, decrease carbon emissions, give students opportunities for hands-on STEM learning, and show young people what a job in the renewable energy sector could look like.
We often call this program a win-win-win, but those aren't just words: those are real savings in school budgets, real jobs created, and real gigawatts of electricity entering the power grid!

I was so happy to see my bill pass out of the House yesterday with a UNANIMOUS yes vote!
We are facing rising energy bills and need to do everything we can to control prices and increase reliability. Advanced Transmission Technologies, or ATTs, are a commonsense, cost-effective strategy to help get the most out of our existing transmission infrastructure, avoiding the need for costly new projects.
This bill would require utility companies to consider ATTs before moving forward with expensive infrastructure upgrades -- by saving the companies money, that also means those expenses aren't passed on to every day customers. This bill is supported by the building trades, industry, environmental groups, and Pennsylvania's electric utilities.
Thank you to all of my colleagues in the House for voting yes for commonsense solutions to Pa.'s energy issues. This bill now heads to the Senate.
Thank you to @grandpalacephilly , @aaccgp , @senatorsaval , @repmaryisaacson , @rep_fiedler , all our presenters, and everyone who attended for helping to make last week's Small Business Expo a success. I remain committed to ensuring that small businesses have the support they need to grow.
We had a wonderful outpouring of support yesterday for Solar for Schools!
At the Capitol, we heard from superintendents and leaders from the Exeter, Newport, Carlisle, and Steelton-Highspire school districts and the Community College of Philadelphia about their Solar for Schools projects. All of these schools were the first-ever recipients of Solar for Schools funding in the program's first year, and many plan to complete their panel installations by the end of 2026!
We were also so glad to hear from Shannon Crooker of @generation.180 , President Wendy Coleman of @aftpaunion , and Kevin Busher of the Pennsylvania School Board Associations (PSBA) about their organizations' support for continued funding of this program.
Thank you to Superintendent Haller, Superintendent Slade, Superintendent Neuhard, Dr. Shannon McLaughlin Rooney of @ccpedu , and Mike Statler of Carlisle School District for making the trip to Harrisburg yesterday.
