We had an amazing session with Becky, associate producer @buttermusicandsound ! She gave us an insightful introduction to music supervision for TV and film and led an interactive workshop where our student-artists crafted their own playlists for potential big brands.
We’re incredibly grateful for her time and for opening our student-artists' eyes to exciting career paths in the industry.

Student-artist Donald was the first one in our cohort to download @flstudio 's new update/software 24. One of the biggest changes we found on FL24 was their AI chord progression. It makes it so much easier for producers to experiment with their chord moods and feels.

Last Friday we had our induction ceremony after Summer I and we couldn't be more pleased. It's been a long and eventful 8 weeks, 4 hours a day, Monday through Friday. The student-artists worked really hard this summer and we couldn't be more proud!
Next steps for FamFrequency Productions include setting the schedule for our school year so we can continue to offer mentorship, resources, and network opportunities for our student-artists.
Thank you to all the teacher-mentors, parents, organizations, community members, board members, and donors who helped make this happen. You're all family and it took every last one of you to put this together.

Youth Set The Stage, an all star collective of students from various youth media organizations, including Big Picture Alliance, WHYY, POPPYN, FamFrequency, PhillyCam, Lil Filmmakers, and Scribe.
Established in 2019, Youth Set the Stage set out to amplify the voices of youth media makers. Youth Set The Stage dedicates itself to providing space for youth media makers to create outside of their respective organizations.
To end the 2025-2026 programming year Youth Set The Stage presents Disruption. A collection of film and musical performances disrupting the status quo of art, as the world enters a place of uncertainty. Youth Media Makers present work that showcases the disruptors of their communities—individuals willing to tell the stories that mainstream media refuses to tell.

Vehemence is an album created by @zay_krisis at @famfrequencyphilly , As both a producer and an artist, he makes music to channel his creativity and emotions into sound. Vehemence is a result of that— the word itself means strong emotion, and that’s exactly what this album captures. Each track showing a different part of who he is by blending energy and realness into his music. ”Music has always been a part of me — no matter what I’ve gone through, it’s always been there. I’ve always been drawn to the instruments, the samples, and the process of building a beat. I love writing lyrics and challenging myself to find new ways to express what I feel.”

The way January blended melancholy rhythms and dance beats was unreal! This genre blending DJ was able to sonically turn @plantandpeople from a showcase to a warm and inviting house party!
For a long time, DJ January wanted to learn how to DJ - and learn she certainly did!

DJ Heaven captivated the room with his high energy performance and hyperpop song selection. The crowd was hype as he influenced the room with his moves, style, and swift transitions.
Seeing DJ Heaven grow into this craft over the past 8 weeks has been seamless. Consistent practice, great questions, and always willing to get up and share what they have been working on.

This Sunday was their first real spin in front of a live audience.
From being so nervous on their first day that no one would even touch the pizza 😭 to locked-in in front of a live audience!
Seeing the growth in real-time was a blessing.🙌🏾
Proud of every student who stepped up and shared their taste, their confidence, and their newfound skills.
The results are what it looks like when young creatives are given the space to practice, experiment, and perform.
