Good Morning asks...WHAT’S YOUR VIEWS ON THE GLASGOW GUGGENHEIM PROJECT IN MILNGAVIE? SHOULD IT GO AHEAD OR SHOULD IT BE SCRAPPED? In our upcoming phone-in we are talking about the Guggenheim Glasgow. It has been described as the heartbeat and leading star of Glasgow’s growing supercluster of creative excellence, joining a growing constellation of Guggenheim museums that are unlike any other in the world. The project has been marred by controversy, not least a spate of murders which have been linked by some directly to the museum. With escalating costs and monumentally delayed timelines, we are asking our audience what they think about this new mega gallery proposed for the reservoir site in Milngavie? We would love to hear from you! Our phone lines are currently experiencing a high volume of calls so please DM us your responses. This can be a text or voicenote. Alternatively if you’d like us to record you live in the studio DM for details. Good Morning Radio Scotland: your stories - your voices!

Glasgow International 2026 Spotlight 💡 Milngavie Columbo, @milngavie_columbo Presented by Jamie Bolland @mercuro__chrome Hussein Mitha @hussmitha Nadia Rossi @stinking_earthfan Bex Šik @bexsik Joey Simons @jimmyseeyou Imbued with the spirit of class warfare from the original 1970s detective show, Milngavie Columbo is an experimental installation drawing together fragments of scripts, storyboards, soundtracks, audition tapes, and architectural models to create a satire of the villainous artworld bourgeoisie. Forty years on from Glasgow’s tenure as the European City of Culture, the well-heeled suburb of Milngavie has won the bid for Britain’s first Guggenheim Museum. A turf war ensues as developers, architects, and art directors tear each other apart to secure lucrative posts and contracts. When a body turns up draped across Milngavie town square’s famous clock, Columbo is brought in to solve the case, only to uncover backstabbing and skulduggery among those charged with delivering cultural salvation to the city. The interlocking structures of class, culture, and power are revealed as he closes in on the suspects 📍 Milngavie Columbo is at Govan Project Space @govanprojectspace 5 – 21 June, visit the link in our bio to see full dates and opening times. 1-3 Been loving this year long collaboration with @bexsik that centres around Bex’s artist residency commission with the NLS Sound Archive. I bring my cutup practice, deindustrialised technologies and technological memory to the fore. It’s great bringing two practices together. Thank you for the space to develop this @glasgowsculpturestudios as eva! 4-5 I have a solo expanded cinema performance in May with Hugh Metcalfe’s @klinker.zoundz incorporating the usual contact mics and transducers for something special. Organised by @erehwon_film 6-10 Studio riot and experiments with optical sound @photosonics 🖤

So so excited to share some good news with you habibis! Listen Gallery is part of @gifestival again this year! Kicking off in June, we are busy supporting three super talented artists; #natashathembisoruwona @bexsik @adammcneilll develop experimental audio tours for the Glasgow Necropolis, a site so so so close to my heart. This is our first official outdoor public presentation and it has always been a dream to do this and couldn’t have done it without all the support from the GI team past and present and all the artists for their trust! There’s an amazing programme of things happening in and out of the festival during this time and we all deserve to come together, to support and celebrate each other across the city and Scotland, espc after some seriously challenging times for our sector. I am rooting for anyone doing cultural work no matter how big or small and so grateful to have a project like this to give me something to look forward to! Thank you to all our ancestors and those of the site, who will guide us on this project 💞

Dundee radio club’s listening extravaganza has begun! Tune In. It’s been amazing so far and so many sounds centred in and around the creative community of Dundee. Airing on Sunday morning are 6 collaborative Audio Sketches: Bex Šik and Jennifer Wicks The Future of Hindsight (for Christine and Frieda) 6 Sketches cut from a live recording using reel to reel, minidisc, guitar, bass, mics and effects. Thanks so much @dundeeradio.club for all the work in bringing this together for a second year. And thanks also to the often hidden voices of amazing women who we can all learn from.

I have some collaborative sound work with @bexsik in the exhibition’Mother Curator’ at Reid Gallery, The Glasgow School of Art. @gsaexhibitions “The Future of Hindsight (For Christine and Frieda) is a series of audio sketches recorded live during studio experimentation, using reel-to-reel tape, minidisc, microphones, guitars, and effects. Inspired by the recordings of women who dedicated years to local community and action, it is a live collaborative performance in development by artists Bex Šik and Jennifer Wicks. The work explores shared threads that offer alternative modes of memory, authorship, and transmission, valuing the tactile, the collective, the imperfect, and resistant practice. These sketches use looping as a mechanism for transforming memory into material experience, disrupting the fixed temporality of aural archiving. Archiving is considered as conversation, as scattering, as finding a collective voice through scrapbooking, effecting found and scavenged materials, repurposing, sharing, re-editing, resharing, and revoicing each other’s words. Who gets to speak whose words?” The exhibition brings together existing and new works including painting, sculpture, photography, film and sound works by twenty five artists, who are either staff or students at GSA. All are mothers highlighting conversations around gender roles and caregiving. The exhibition celebrates the value of dedicated time and space to foreground artistic practice. Exhibition runs through 31st Jan 2026 The Reid Gallery Reid Building The Glasgow School of Art 164 Renfrew Street, Glasgow G3 6RQ
