I am making the coffee tables that will go in the lobby of @hotelreset out of rocks and wood. The only 4 power tools I needed were my @ryobitoolsusa angle grinder, drill, jigsaw, and sander. I experimented with using @quikreteconcrete anchoring epoxy to create a smooth flat bottom and it saved me a ton of grinding time. This is the same epoxy I use for securing the threaded couplings into the holes I drilled in the rock. #furnituredesign #makersgonnamake #woodworking

Storms can give you free materials. This rock got washed out of our driveway in a recent storm and the mulberry log come frame a fallen tree. I used my @ryobitoolsusa chainsaw, angle grinder, drill and sander to turn these salvaged materials into a bench/media console/coffee table. This was a pretty easy DIY project that only took about 9 hours from and 5 hours of @ijessup sanding. #makersgonnamake #woodworking #furnituredesign #moderndesign #industrialdesign

I needed a spiral staircase for my boston loft so I made one out of plywood from Home Depot using a small CNC from @inventables along with my @ryobitoolsusa This was a 2016 project that made out of need but I like how it demonstrates that small robots can make big things when used strategically. CNCs have evolved dramatically in the last 7years and are now fairly common in woodworking. #spiral #woodworker #woodworking #stairs #stairdesign #architecture #cnc #cncmachine #cncmilling

Having a powerful laser that can cut steel in your garage is awesome and I am making my own hardware using the @xtool.official MetalFab laser. I drew the designs in @adobe illustrator and it only took 22 seconds to cut out each one from 1/16”thick steel. I finished both the metal and wood with @rubiomonocoatusa and now I have a rod to hang all the nice clothes I got from @fahertybrand

Bricking your phone but make it brutalist! I have often wondered how heavy a cookie jar lid would need to be to impact snacking habits. I find myself checking my phone more often than I need too so I made a concrete and glass brick coffin that sits in my desk. I used @lego to make a full sized prototype and hot glued it down with my @ryobitoolsusa I used mold star 30 from @smoothon to make the molds and now I can produce this novel habit reinforcement device at home. Silicone mold making will be part of the concrete workshops @highdesertdesignweek in early August and these will be for sale at the @makerranch2.0 store which is coming soon.

Sunday night dinners @makerranch2.0 are where the crew gets together to share what we have been experimenting with along with a lot of food and beverages. The High Desert is the best place in California for creatives to make their home and we love hosting them at maker ranch. One of the main reasons we started @highdesertdesignweek was so that we could expand this practice and include more people. @modernbuilds @sungsation @thecarpenterdaddy @yoonj_kim @emmmirooose @fffffilth @ijessup @shanecarrigan @nhub3r @skullandspade13 are the usual suspects but we hope you all join us all @highdesertdesignweek

We are getting ready for pool season in the high desert with some help from a friendly little robot! @wybot_official is compact but powerful and is really helpful getting wind blown sand out of our pool. 🔗 in bio #ad #wybot #wybotb1 #roboticcleaners #poolcleaner roboticpoolcleaner

1. I love chandeliers! 2. Why don’t I have chandeliers in my house? 3. Because I don’t have a good ceiling location :( 4. Let’s make chandeliers on the floor :) Basically this is how the early stages of my design process goes. I got a laser in my shop that can cut steel precisely so I made a steel and glass coffee table. If you are one of those cool people that wants a powerful laser to cut things at home you should check out @xtool.official

Super simple DIY coffee table out of Fir beams. I used my @ryobitoolsusa circular saw to do most of the work and I kept my sanding time down by finishing the wood with my torch. For finish I have been using @rubiomonocoatusa in black. Basic wood working projects like this will be covered in my workshops @highdesertdesignweek

I am shipping this stone and wood bench so I had to make some sturdy crates. My @ups driver always jokes about needing to warm up when he picks up from me but at least I put handles on the crate. I use the same @ryobitoolsusa for building the crates as I do the projects and the new foam cutter came in handy for this one. Guess how much this one cost to ship from California to the east coast
