Still processing what an incredible conversation this was.
It was my honor to interview @mistyonpointe Misty Copeland last week for my forthcoming feature documentary film, Come Dance With Me. Misty is not just one of the most iconic dancers of our time, but a powerful voice for access, equity, and the transformative impact of the arts.
We spoke about childhood, finding a voice through movement, and why dance – and the arts more broadly – aren’t a luxury for kids… they’re essential.
And of course, we spoke about Jacques d’Amboise, the work of @nationaldanceinstitute , and the unmatched impact of the arts to improve our society.
I’m so grateful to have Misty’s perspective as part of this film, and to be aligned in the shared belief: every child deserves access to the power of the arts.

This pied piper. This genius. @nationaldanceinstitute . Jacques started the entire thing going to the Principals at NYC schools saying: I want to start a dance program here for free. Now it’s all over the world and NDI preserves his legacy with enthusiasm and respect for children and the kindness and inspiration through the Arts that they deserve. Chris, Charlotte, Cate and George, this is your papa! 😭😭😭😭😭
A stunning film by @benjaminryannathan who is an alumni as well! You can see the entire thing at edancewithmefilm.com

Heading into Thanksgiving, we’ve been reflecting on how powerful community becomes in the face of rebuilding.
This year, our team at @allofusfilms partnered with @greenbuildexpo & the @usgbc to craft the story behind the Resiliency Studio for Sustainable Recovery & Day One, a new hub supporting families affected by the Eaton Fire in Pasadena & Altadena.
We didn’t just document the project - we designed the narrative and shaped it into a film centered on resilience, dignity, and shared skill. From bike repair to sewing, gardening to energy-efficient cooking, the studio shows what community-led recovery can look like when people rebuild with one another, not alone.
Grateful we could help tell this story.
Grateful for the people living it every day.

Have you ever heard of a Retired Dairy Cow? 🐄
Most dairy cows are considered ‘useless’ once they stop producing milk.
But chefs across the U.S. are challenging that.

Fellow NYC #dancers and #dancecurious friends, and especially alumni of @nationaldanceinstitute , my very first dance teacher – the incredible @tracyfuji – is teaching a super fun #danceclass called @bijabeat for adults in #NYC, to benefit @ctbeat , a nonprofit dance program in public schools in Colorado, that creates phenomal results for children through the arts. At a time when arts funding is threatened left and right, come move your left and your right to make a difference, while having a blast. You will not regret it! Weds, 6/18 - be there!
Happy birthday to my Grandma Judy! She was a force in our family and an inspiration to me - she would be 96 today. And I know she’s thrilled about her grandson Jesse’s wedding to his love Sue today! L’chaim & mazal tov! ❤️❤️❤️

If you had told me a few months ago that I’d be a panelist at the ASIL - American Society of International Law’s 119th Annual Meeting in DC, I wouldn’t have believed you. But this incredible group of visionary attorneys care deeply about #LaborTrafficking and the issues we address in my #DocumentaryFilm, To Be Free ().
As we seek funding for the film, I got the opportunity to share some of the individual #SurvivorStories from the film, and ideas about how to address this insidious issue in the US.
Many thanks to the intrepid organizers of this panel, Kindra Mohr, Esq., Nawi Ukabiala, Taylor Booth, & Taylor Kilpatrick, and to my co-panelists Yousuf Aftab, Anita Ramasastry, Tran Che, and Douglass Cassel for their insight, leadership, and willingness to share the stage with a non-lawyer like me.
