KONICA MINOLTA PLANETARIUM Live Installation TOKYO, JAPAN 🏠: @brightblack.studio 🎬: @ivanlandau + @austincaryrhodes 🎥: @bemo_studio 🔮: @bemoflow 🧙🏼‍♂️: @b_parvini 👨🏼‍🎨: @twistedpoly 💫: @teunvanderzalm 👨🏼‍🔧: @ian.ross.fx 🔊: @sleepyvolcano 💸: @hajimepictures 🦄: @anng_music Sometimes you just get the most beautiful opportunities.  We're happy to share this piece we were commissioned to create to "Open Space" by the Planetarium division of Konica Minolta in Japan.  They wanted us to find a way to enhance the opening sequence for the Planetariums' featured presentations in all 4 of their cutting edge facilities in and around Tokyo.  Working with our friends @brightblack.studio to bring this world to life, we set out to visually explore the micro and macro parallels we as humans share with nature and the cosmic plane.  The piece was designed to fill the spherical space of the dome for a full on immersive experience and the sound design was mixed in 3D across 44 different channels.  Heaps of incredible 3D art, mind altering style frames, screen tests and hours and hours of work back and forth between Bemo and Bright Black and the client in Japan are bundled up in this visual poem dedicated to the cosmos and our joint human effort to understand and celebrate it.  Hopefully we can all get back over to Japan soon and take in one of the most psychedelic :60 planetarium experiences currently available on planet earth. #planetarium #cinema4d #redshift #bemo #artinstillation #cosmic #characterdesign #animation #cg #3d_animation_design #psychedelicart #psychedelic #motiongraphics_p #motiondesigner #motionmate #motionmob #motiongraphics_collective #motionmass #xuxoe #animation #thedesigntip #yours3d #howiseedatworld #cgiall #motionlovers

As we navigate through these times of uncertainty, it has been very clear that we are not safe within our own Country and we never really have been have we ? ……. My people and other indigenous kin have never been safe on stolen lands and have continued to navigate life in what seemed to be a post apocalyptic world . Yet it’s not in the past , it is here and now still . The current administration creates fear and division within our communities and country and within our relationships with other Nations . Fear leads to separation and separation leads to war. When you think about the future , what does it look like? We have a responsibility to set out future generations up for success and we are failing to do so .. When @josue_foto asked me to be part of this @stvndingstrong project 3 years ago he prompted me to write a message to the world and the future . I said “what should I write?” He responded “a message to the future. What is your message to the future?” I said “to be a Good Ancestor” , and started writing this short message that would fit into a 1 minute audio space . My hopes is that this message outlives us and continues forward movement around the world and into the next 7 Generations and beyond . We are all related , One Heart One Mind , that is our teachings from our Tribal Elders . To be a Good Ancestor and leave a good trail for others to find easily . What is your wish for the future ? Visualize it . Speak it into existence . Be a good person. Do the right thing . Love is universal and transcends borders and races . In 2016, Rivas spent seven months living at Standing Rock, North Dakota, documenting the resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline. That time revealed more than a protest; it was an awakening that continues to ripple outward. Through this work, Rivas questions the historical role of photography in exploiting Indigenous communities and reimagine how these same tools can be reclaimed and become transformative. Standing Strong seeks to create spaces where Indigenous peoples can tell their own stories with authenticity and safety, carrying the strength of past, present, and future generations. Using self-portraiture, augmented reality, and public art, Rivas works to expand the lens of contemporary Indigeneity. Each collaboration, such as the recent partnership with Acosia Red Elk and BEMO, is a practice of reciprocity, where process and outcome are shaped by the person in front of the lens. These works stand as testimony, connection, and visual medicine. We are POWER.
