Motherless . This colorful cocktail is floral and fruity, with a slight bitter undertone from rhubarb, orange peel and gentian root, finished with a bright, effervescent topping of sparkling wine for a citrus clean finish. It embraces the full range of complex emotions to accompany an afternoon of community and connection, while celebrating and honoring the mothers who shaped us. . My last project was a personal one and over the past year I have been really reconnecting with the past through flavour and cocktail creation. This one in particular has been in the works off and on for a while and being able to serve it up last weekend for @parentlessclub ‘s Motherless Day in Winnipeg was an absolute honour. @kzborowsky and I have been family since forever and continuing to reconnect over creative projects has been one of the best things. When not being hounded by regulars old and new for the most iconic and inventive cocktails, Beck plays the flute and engages in queer/trans advocacy work. Pink Paradise Pick Me Up . This summer I had a stunning little cocktail at none other than @honihonitikilounge - the Coffee Colada. It was one of those cocktails that really hit the spot. Flavourful and insanely crushable. The perfect evening pick me up, and a cocktail I haven’t stopped thinking about.
