This is a team sport. 2 hours with one team can be more productive than 40 with another one.
It’s not lost on me the good fortune of simply knowing such talented people, and neither is the work put in to be able to work with and alongside such individuals. I feel very lucky, and while I used to think I don’t deserve such, I’m trying to remind myself that I do. We all do.

Man, I had never been deep in @memphisdrumshop , but I am eager to shoot something else there now. Hopefully something as good as these dudes cutting it up. I love seeing Memphis people making it out in the world. It was a treat to hang with y’all and capture the vibe. If I’d known what I was getting into, I would have brought a better mic.

BMX isn’t about who can do the biggest tricks or who puts together the best run or wins whichever contest. It’s about this. It’s about community and making something beautiful out of absolute chaos. It’s about finding a window of opportunity and seizing it. It’s about traveling state lines and embracing strangers as brothers and engaging in this ever growing community and riding along side the professionals we admire as just another dude on the deck. It’s about @austin901davis and @digbmx and it’s about fucking time too.

07.21.21 - 36 (mafia) birthday.
Started the day off by driving my van through the zoo at dawn, which was unexpected and absolutely incredible. I broke my phone the previous day so I got no photos of this experience, which only cements it further as such a special moment that only exists in my memory. Then I got to work with this little camera and this gigantic lens which was exhilarating and frustrating to mount and hold. And that was cool except when it wasn’t and the FiZ mostly worked except when it didn’t and the DP was cool and somehow convinced himself I was doing a good job. We had similar ties in New Orleans so I think that gave me grace.
Life is alright and much thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes. I finally have a phone that is back and fully synched. Some messages are trickling in but I know some will get missed. So thank you to all. Keep doing you. Stay safe ❤️
This was a wild/long/hot/hard day. But I did it with friends, and now we have this.
