I’m really really proud of this and it was the hardest I think I’ve ever worked on a music project. Close to a full year of work between writing, orchestration, planning the show, and media work after the fact.

Entirely a labor of love and entirely made by us. Lateef took the cover photo, mixing and mastering done myself with a lot of input from the band.
Recorded in January 2020 in Lateef’s living room.
Experimenting, looking for new ideas. The plan is I’m going to comp together a bunch of different bass sounds and takes, so it’s helpful to have some more standard grooving bass lines then some “pots and pans” kind of material between that. Don’t want to get too edit heavy on this one but having some options is helpful.
Other random thought I had….I do own an A/B switch so in theory I could bring a 2nd bass to gigs and do this live. Might develop this further. Really does help to be able to do one thing with one hand and give the knobs a twiddle with the other

Had a blast at the @handsomefuture beat laboratory doing brutal things to an old piano skeleton. Made a lot of interesting sounds and looking forward to seeing what we can make with them

Join us for an intimate night of music in the heart of Downtown Jersey City. This jazz edition of UNPLUGGED features MattyG, BASS COMPUTER, and Frankie Midnight.
Emilio Guarino is a performer, producer, and creative technologist. His work ranges from orchestral performance to contemporary electronic music, modern improvisation, and multi-disciplinary collaborative works.
As a bassist, he has performed or collaborated with a wide variety of creative personalities that include conductors, composers, soloists, and producers. He has been invited to perform at festivals including the Stavanger Kammermusikk Festival (Norway), The Lucerne Festival (Switzerland), and The International Society of Bassists biennial conference. Highlights include performances with Sir Simon Rattle, Matthias Pintscher, Renée Fleming, Anne-Sophie Mutter, Todd Machover, The MIT Media Lab, and Glenn Kotche of Wilco.

james.acampora and I wrote this VERY quickly for the unveiling of the new @bmw 7 series in collaboration with @adamplomeo@musicdeptnyc and Redwood Reverie.
Was quite exciting to go from basic idea to done + performance in under a week
This is for a scene where a lot of chaos and fighting erupts offscreen in another room when zombie attacks people, so I need to make a lot of rustling and slamming sounds.
Will be mixed in with libraries of slams and thuds but it needed something extra to fill it out. Can easily roll off high end to “put it in the other room” and then open it up for when you actually see the fighting
Unfortunately can’t shows clips for a while but always fun to see the process of how things get made
